Is it time to replace Arrowhead with a dome?

The cold, crappy Dec/Jan. KC weather doesn't appear to provide any real home field advantage anymore.

At least the fans wouldn't be so miserable in a nice climate controlled facility. No more thousands of no shows or leaving at halftime on bad weather days.

A rolling tarp would fit in nicely with the Raytown/Independence area though.

See those large tracks that would have to be there for it to roll on? Those tracks and the roof itself would have been completely in the way and would have made access to the stadiums far less convenient. The fans would have to either climb over the rails or go around them in order to get into the stadiums. And for what purpose? So that the roof could be rolled over one of the stadiums on a rainy day, a snowy day, or for that mythical Super Bowl in Kansas City, the town with insufficient hotel space and not nearly enough entertainment options to attract a week-long event of that magnitude?

The rolling roof would have been an eyesore and an abomination. Even if technology can solve the problem of the tracks by recessing them into the ground, you'd still have that idiotic roof sitting there unused 360 days each year. I was elated when the voters rejected that idea.
Look at the walkways and then look at the rail supports. You would have been able to drive a Mack Truck through them. Hell, the parking was going to be in and around them.

Domes suck. But hey, it's your team and stadium.

I'm pretty sure the rails were going to be high enough to walk under. And to be honest, I think it look kind of cool.

But you're right that it wouldn't bring a SB here, it seems like any number of reasons were lined up to ensure it stays south of the 37th parallel.

The problem with Arrowhead is the location. It should have been built downtown somewhere with lots of surrounding businesses for the fans to go to before and after games to wait out the traffic. Also the loads of parking ramps would help.

There's nothing anyone cares about anywhere near Arrowhead.

Not fan or crowd friendly.

You could apply that logic to the teams paying for the stadium renovations too. I guess, in a way, it's good they didn't.

It really is ugly as shit. It's a step back, technology-wise, and indoor football is ****ing stupid.

Add to that the math of a Super bowl.
If we had a Super bowl how many Kansas Citians would actually be able to go (few). How ****ed up would our traffic be for a week (very). And would it increase the odds of the Chiefs being in it (not at all).

Done...
Sure would be a boon to the local economy.

I think you mean the K... I think most people are pretty-OK with Arrowhead being where we can tailgate 8-10 times a year, but tailgating at 80'ish baseball games just seems to be lame. So I think the K should have been moved downtown (by the P&L), and Arrowhead enjoy more parking.

But alas.......
