Cleaning hardwood floors
What do you use to clean your hardwood floors?

I've tried Swiffer, Shark Steamer and other mop based products. Even a vinegar and water mixture. Yet I always end up with a sticky residue or a dull finish.

Getting tried of trying new things just to have it fail each time.

Look for a product called Bona-Kemi.

Is your wood floor an older floor that you wax or one of the newer factory finished type floors?

Ah, good question that I forgot to address in my OP.

It is a factory finished floor that was installed just last year.

Then definitely do not use Murphy's.

Look for a Bona-Kemi hardwood cleaning kit. It's a spray on cleaner and the kit comes with a dust mop kind of a dealy.

If you want to use a steam clean or wet clean machine I'd suggest you check with the manufacturer of the floor first.

Where can I find this outside their website? Lowes, HD, WM, Target? anywhere?

My housekeeper uses a mixture of Pine-Sol and water. She doesn't use a sponge or string mop. Instead, she wraps a towel around the mop head, soaks it in the Pine-Sol/Water and mops. We open the windows to air-dry.

The floors look spotless.

not sure if it works for engineered flooring, but we use Mop N Glo. Looks good.
