If the Democrats win the senate...

Imagine this scenario:

Dems win the senate (not super likely, around a 30% chance)
Kavanaugh goes down (also probably around a 30% chance)

and they get control of the Senate with an open supreme court seat.

Then they say either:

a) We'll only confirm garland or
b) We'll only confirm someone to the left of garland

I'm sure everyone here would just "oh sure, fair's fair. That's within the rules of the senate." Right?

Trump wins reelection in 2020 and he gets to nominate two more SCOTUS members to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Steven Breyer. They will be 91 and 86 respectively by the end of Trump's 8 years.

I hope they all get ousted in their next election as a proof that the United States hasn't lost it's mind.

Let individuals in their own states make the call as they see it for their state. If they did that, I think Dems would destroy Repubs in elections. Won't ever happen though.
And doesn't that work both ways? I would guess there are more anti-abortion democratic politicians as there are pro-abortion republican politicians.

There are a LOT of people on the right for who it is a single issue. It isn't currently as important on the left because the SC has been striking down abortion restrictions.

With a new court that is likely to allow politicians to put up more restrictions, if not outlaw it completely, it will be interesting to see if you start getting large numbers of pro abortion rights single issue voters.

You can forget getting any nominee through unless the Senate is controlled by the same party as the president.

And if the Senate and Presidency are from the same party, you can get any Nominee through regardless of how vile.

Our side talks tough a lot more than following through. Plus, if you accuse a liberal of being a racist, does anybody even care? From what we've seen when it comes to Spartacus and the head of the DNC, it's pretty clear that they don't care if it's one of their own. They don't really care at all, even if it's one of ours, but they'll play the game like they do.

But alas, what conservative-minded woman would make-up a lie and come forward with an accusation? Even if they did, when the shoe is on the other foot, DiFi would all but admit she doesn't give a shit. She'd probably say conservative women deserve it.

Well, let’s see....Sotomayor (the least qualified candidate in the history of the SCOTUS) and there was bi-partisan support for that idiot.

Nope - it is the fascist left that stands in the way. All because they ONLY support activism on ANY court.

Kagan wasn't even a judge—BUT—qualifications, experience MATTERS! Especially to Lex Luther.

Can you imagine if the Republicans choose a person who wasn't a judge?

I know it's not a requirement for becoming a SCJ though...but you know how it goes.

There are many more Democrat Senators that are up for relection then Republican Senators this cycle.

It's looking better for Republicans — at least as far as the Senate goes. More concern for the House.

At some point this madness has to end. I don’t know how. Dems are showing no sign of curbing their social engineering agenda and Rs are showing no signs of accepting it.
