Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

275 touches in 2010.

300 touches in 2012.

HUGE DIFFERENCE...a whole 1.56 touches more per game!

Pull your head out of your ass.

Yeah, let's take Charles off the field.

FYI, there is not advantageous matchup with Dexter. He's not good at beating defenders as he's shown time and time again.

McBuster is way down the list of players who need touches, thanks.
Last year, we ran 1021 plays from scrimmage.

If we give the ball to Charles more than 220 times, we are putting our best weapon at greater risk of re-injury and that would be straight up foolish.

Yeah, so?

Those are conservative estimates.

Sixth, or seventh in line for touches = minimal impact.

I could see it effecting his touches, but I could also see his average and total yardage going up.
Boss, I like McCluster's potential too, but he's going to become a gimmick player. There simply isn't a way to put him on the field without taking somebody important off of it.

The Chiefs desperately need a big thumper back to complement Charles. So if I'm taking away carries from Charles, that's the guy I'm going to use (not McCluster). The Chiefs have 3 very good receivers in Bowe, Baldwin, and Breaston -- unless you take Breaston out of the slot, McCluster isn't an option there either. You'd expect the Chiefs to be active in bringing in a good TE to run 2-TE sets. You have sets where you're going to want a fullback in your backfield.

Unfortunately, the only scenarios you can think of is maybe taking a few carries at the most away from Charles a game and on passing 3rd down situations. Or... if you don't sign Bowe. Otherwise, there's a lot of important people you're taking off the field.

At best he will be 6th.

Why would you throw him the ball over Charles, Bowe, Moeaki, Breaston or Baldwin?

****ing stupid.

We'd also be dumb as **** to make him RB2, but I'll give him an outside chance since our GM is dumb as ****.

If he's RB2 he might have 60-70 touches.

In 2010 the #2 WR was Chambers who caught 22 passes and was targeted 44 times.

In 2011 the #2 WR was Breaston who caught 61 passes and was targeted 100 times.

Baldwin started late, because of the holdout and Jones, and he caught 21 passes and was targeted 52 times.

Now all of a sudden Charles is going to have a record year in touches because the Chiefs got even more weapons on offense.

This is exactly why I thought his touches would go down last year.

And then Baldwin, Charles and Moeaki got hurt, so he picked up garbage yards.

Fine, call it 275 touches, whatever.

There's little difference. 300 carries is not a workhorse load, and we will probably lean on him a little more because he is our best player and we are making a run for it all.

"Charles needs more carries."

Stop being Henry Rollins.

All three were hurt when we made our bet.

No, he was drafted to be a slot WR, which is why we spent a high pick on him. We thought he could be a 50+ catches a year guy.

He failed at that so now he runs reverses, screens, falls down on passes in the flat, and gets carries in place of brokedicks.

We still have yet to even know who the Chiefs are going to get to replace Jones/Battle.

If the Chiefs wind up drafting Richardson, although I don't think they'll even have the opportunity, there is not a chance in hell Charles gets near that.
