LA Times - Monkey can't sue for copyright infringement

https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/...&ICID=ref_fark

Quote:
We must determine whether a monkey may sue humans, corporations, and companies for damages and injunctive relief arising from claims of copyright infringement," Judge Carlos Bea, appointed by President George W. Bush, wrote for a three-judge panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

A federal appeals court decided unanimously Monday that animals may not sue for copyright protection.

Take that, PETA!!

VARSITY
You’d think that Judge Bea would’ve taken time to watch the Bee Movie before making this ruling.

The real surprise is that the 9th Circuit didn't rule in favor of the monkey.

Parties have an automatic right to appeal out of the district court, which goes to the circuit courts of appeal.
