Actually, it's 3 wins to 16 losses.

Judging Alex Smith early his career is beyond stupid.

He had very little talent and no coaching to help him at all.

He has both of those here on our team.

Of course you do. Thats called cherry picking. Unless you can transplant that entire team to Kansas City your not going to see the numbers he posted the last 2 years. This current Chiefs team is closer to the earlier 49er teams Alex played on rather than the later. Your delusional if you expect #s while along for the ride with a SB caliber team while now on a .500/ sub .500 team from a game managing type QB.

Thats the mistake the Chiefs made with Matt Cassel.

This. Which is why we should bring in Jamarcus Russel. He had little talent and coaching around him and still put up better numbers than Alex Smith early in his career.

As I've said before:

He was a QB who threw for less than 200 yards a game and less than 20 TDs a year with AND without Harbaugh.

I bet Clayton said Rich Gannon would flame out when he went to Oakland because he wasn't a 1st round QB and did nothing special beforehand.

I bet he also thought Trent Green would suck when he came here from St. Louis because he was also not a 1st round QB and did nothing special beforehand.

Or that Eli Manning could never win a SB because he never even completed 60% of his passes and was an INT machine before 2008.

Or that Joe Flacco would never win a SB because he was just a game manager on a talented team.

I do think hes capable of that. With more improvements made all around I think he could provide the stability to achieve similar success last seen around here by Marty's teams.
That's what I mean't when I said that bringing in Alex Smith is the first step toward mediocrity.

Marty's teams were well coached teams that won a lot of games.
But at the end of the day, they were mediocre teams that could compete with, but not win against championship calibre teams in the playoffs.

Martyocrity lives again.

I never said any of those things.

In fact, I was a huge Trent Green fan, and was on Flacco's bandwagon before most people here.

Alex Smith is like none of those guys, and never will be.

Now go **** yourself.

Risk failure in the pursuit of excellence.

That means drafting the best QB now.

From where I sit, that is Geno Smith.
But that could be Matt Barkley, if I had the access to these guys that NFL people have.

It fits perfectly with your crying narrative that you have beaten to death over and over again.

You're just too pussy to own up to it.

Wrong.

I was actually a huge Matt Cassel fan when we made the trade.

I've learned my lesson the hard way.

**** Alex Smith.

What? He had a team good enough to take a 3,000 yard QB to the division championship game, and then next year take a guy with less than a half season of starts into a competitive Super Bowl calibre team.

Colin Kaepernick and Andrew Luck are two players with a fraction of the experience Smith had, yet play a hundred times better than Smith has his entire career. We know what Smith is. He is a better version of Matt Cassel. I just hope that the Chiefs view him as a stopgap. If they do, I'm fine. If they think he's truly their long-term guy, then it's going to be a long 10 years.

JaMarcus Russel is a fat lazy loser who doesn't care about football. He's definitely like Alex Smith.
