Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I am not a Glock fan. They jump way too much for what is coming out of the barrel.

Hell, my XDs .45 has less jump than a Glock 9mm

You might consider talking to a gunsmith before getting rid of it. You'd be amazed how much it can be improved.

Illinois conceal carry update:

Our cocksucking **** of a governor issued an amendatory veto of the already gutted bill, adding so much bullshit that it's nearly completely useless, which of course was the idea all along.

Already it would have been illegal to carry on public transportation. Already the fee would have been $150 for application, plus 16 hours of certified training. These things alone were bad enough. But Queef now adds these shitty little nuggets:

* 10 round magazine restriction (my carry gun, of course, has 12 round mags)
* No CC in any establishment with a liquor license (no bars, most restaurants)
* A presumption that guns are not permitted on any private property, unless a sign is posted saying guns are allowed (basically, the opposite of everywhere else)
* Any employer will be able to prohibit guns on premises

And a couple of others, but basically, those are the worst.

So, if nothing changes, the long and the short of it is I can pay these ****s $150, pay more money to get certified, then eventually get a permit, but basically only be able to carry legally in my ****ing driveway.

God I hate this ****ing state. And this piece of shit governor is 10 times worse than the last two, both of whom were sent to prison.

Me either.
I was this way with Ruger back in the 90s. Then Bill Ruger died.
Thank god! Because I like Ruger firearms. Bill on the other hand was a sellout

Move to Oklahoma. You can carry (concealed or open) in places that sell liquor as long as their main selling points isn't alcohol.

Actually these are both VERY good things, yes it could suck a bit more in the short term but you haven't been able to carry yet anyway so you want him to do stupid things that will cause it to be advanced in the courts and get hammered down for dumb regulations.

The presumption that CCW isn't allowed unless explicitly stated is a functional ban on CCW. If businesses decide they want to explicitly deny it I have less issues, their property, their rules.

That said it's a veto, the CCW rules were passed with a veto proof majority, if they want to override it they will. If it doesn't the bill is vetoed and the state is in contempt. Basically his veto has no meaning since they must pass it as he wants it written. It's not the case of no action and the modified bill goes into effect.

It must be passed as he modified it or the veto overridden within 7 days or constitutional carry goes into effect.

I paid $120.00 for the class. It was lil over 12 hours including rang time.Still have to pay the state patrol 100.00 for CCW. I have held off paying the state patrol because my family is scarred shit-less of a legally armed Livesteam walking the streets of Omaha. Bugs, sis, mom, cousins. The hole ****ing works is against me

I love my 1911s, and I've always been a big 1911 fan, but every since I got my first glock I appreciated both the engineering and the simplicity of the glock design. The one thing I'm pretty convinced of is that the glock is most likely to keep working no matter what.

I would recommend keeping it for reliability reasons alone. Yes the ergonomics aren't perfect but it works and works well and when it comes to firearms that should always be the no 1 consideration.

you are a wise man. IF the SHTF, the SKS will be good trading material too. Someone will want it, and some ammo, guaranteed.

People seem to think that the General Assembly will override his veto. Outside of the diehard Chicago scumbags, he has almost no support anywhere else in the state, even among fellow Democrats.

Those fees and training aren't really that far off base.

I paid over $150 for the class and license. Class was 8 hours long.
Businesses have the power to allow/not allow guns.

Really, it's not that far off. The mag restrictions would piss me off, though.
