A Las Vegas woman was arrested Tuesday after authorities caught her having sex with a pit bull in her back yard, according to Metro police.

In an arrest report released Wednesday, police said they were called to a home in the 300 block of N. 16th Street, where 23-year-old Kara Vandereyk was engaging in sexual acts with the animal in full view of neighbors.

Police said the woman stood-up and greeted officers with a "Hi".

Vandereyk appeared to be under the influence of drugs or was mentally ill, according to the report.

Police said she could not identify herself and was unable to answer questions about the current date or name of the President of the United States.

Vandereyk is quoted in the report telling officers, "I'm bipolar." She also admitted to taking prescription medication but was not sure if she was on them at the time, police said.

Vandereyk is charged with open and gross lewdness.

The canine was taken into the custody of Animal Control.

I can't believe people so unsympathetic and cruel. Kara is bi-polar and not in control of her actions, she deserves sympathy not public humiliation with her photo all over the internet. Bestiality is a victimless crime, Kara didn't hurt anyone or her dog. Animals can consent to sex, dogs will mount humans of their own free will. Kara didn't force her dog to have sex, it wanted it. What right do you have to judge her?

Animals can't give consent to be eaten or used to pull carriages, so you are all hypocrites. Farmers masturbate male animals to sell their sperm, how is this different from what Kara did? First off, it's text on an internet message board, not persecution. What gets typed on this message board has no impact on this lady's life.

Second, if she's so mentally ill that she allows animals to **** her, she needs to be in an institution. It's funny how mental health advocates always want the crazies to be treated like normal humans, except when it comes to judging their actions as if they were normal humans.
