Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)
A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

I'm not sure how I'll feel if Tyrian is killed tonight. Probably the same way I felt about the Chiefs after the Indy loss -- I'll be so pissed that I won't want anything to do with the show...until next season.

But I do hope Jamie comes to the rescue -- they can be on the run together next season.

This being Game of Thrones, however, I'm not holding my breath...

I don't think he became a likable character. He was always likable. Sure, he was sarcastic and snarky but he had other moments as well when he was generally trying to help people. Like when he gave the plans for a modified saddle to the Starks after Bran was crippled.

He also prevented the war from becoming bigger by sending the princess to Dorne as a hostage basically. Considering Oberyn's quest for vengeance, it is surprising that Dorne didn't jump right into the fray.

This episode will be bitter sweet. On one hand I am beyond excited to see what happens and can't wait for it to start but on the other hand I know that once it's over we will have to wait close to a year for the next episode.
