Cassel has a concussion.

Cassel has concussion
Posted by Mike Florio on October 7, 2012, 7:53 PM EDT
Matt Cassel AP

The official word after Sunday’s loss by the Chiefs to the Ravens was that quarterback Matt Cassel is being evaluated for a head injury.

The evaluation has been completed. Per a league source, Cassel has a concussion.

And so Cassel’s status will depend on evaluations and opinions from an independent neurologist, who must clear Cassel to practice and play. Until he’s cleared, he can do neither.

No way man, if Quinn started today I think we would have won. With that being said if daboll would have taken the damn training wheels off Casshole in the 2nd half we would have won too, but it was obvious Quinn can make throws Cassel never dreamed of.

Yeah but that's football. That's what 98% of good teams do to Manning. It's what the Patriots did to them today. Keep it in front of you defensively and force them to put together a drive, because most football teams can't consistently string 10-12 plays together without shooting themselves in the foot.

Speaking on behalf of all Chiefs fans, I'd like to tell Matt not to rush back from this potentially life-threatening injury. Much about concussions and their long-term effects is still unknown, and we wouldn't want Matt to take any totally unnecessary chances with his health. Better to sit back and heal until about mid-January at the earliest. We appreciate Matt's warrior-like mentality, but he needs to put his family first. He's got one kid, and I understand he's got another one on the way, and he and his wife should just concentrate on Matt's recovery along with raising their kids for whatever length of time is remaining on Matt's contract...er, I mean until he's fully healed.

We had that game won. It's really sad, because we had a definable chance to win that game and we'd all be one big happy family right now.
Dude, the one on Bowe was blatantly obvious. Now the touchdown to Bowe when Mccluster was flagged was a little different.

Negative. Get your butt back in the starting lineup. We need Geno Smith.

Yeah I'll concede the one on Bowe, but the one against McCluster was horseshit and everyone knows it. The ravens CB leveled McCluster who had his head down running a route. At the very least it should have been a flag against the Ravens. If it happened the other way it's a flag on us. I'm also pretty sure the ball was already out of Flacco's hands before the ref blew the play dead, but I could be wrong on that one.

DESTINY

Thanks, Matt.

Now get the **** out.
Now I clearly wanted Cassel benched but I don't buy this part. Worst ? No way, Quinn has much better mechanics and a stronger arm. Cassel is by far worst than Brady Quinn ! Superior ? I would say more along the line of a better Kyle Orton.

As our schedule gets weaker the last half of the season, we should run off several wins during this time. It does not matter if it's Brady or Matt, we will win several of those games. A win today and maybe 9 more , say if Brady lights it up and comes of age, you have a team full of confidence riding a "hot" QB.

All the reason why I have never been one for losing to better a draft pick. Losing does not breed confidence into the team & players, winning does! Losing only paints a loser type image to other potential FA's later in the off season.

With Quinn, does anybody think that maybe age & maturity also came into play while he was in Cleveland as much as it was a bad team ? Why is it many fans think all QB's should be able to light it up when entering the NFL ? That it shouldn't take a QB more time to develop as an NFL starter as it does some other positional player? To be fair here, there is a lot more to learn and the responsibility & scrutiny is much greater as a QB. I'm not making excuse's for Brady Quinn here, just looking outside the box a little broader here.

Sure I want a 1st rd stud QB but not at the expense of want to lose all the games to get it. New QB's take time, unless you get a special one right away, which doesn't happen every year.

To get a 1st rd QB, we either suck badly or we move up to get him. People will complain that not getting Stanzi reps and giving them to Quinn is holding Stanzi back. Stanzi has to learn as well, age and maturity is his problem as well, his mechanics and potential is greater than Cassel's.

At the same time I want the best all around players at all positions we can get too!

Quinn is also wildly inaccurate and has a history of being one of the worst quarterbacks in football. Not just among starters. Among ALL quarterbacks in the entire league.

Chances that he plays well enough to lead us to anything more than 2-3 wins are slim.

Could well be the final outcome with him, he may just turn things around, ala Plunket , Gannon, etc.

Only the chance & time will tell.

Plunkett and Gannon were not dog shit before they improved.

Shit, Plunkett threw 19 TDs in his FIRST SEASON.

Quinn has career numbers comparable to BRODIE CROYLE.
