I don't think Tharpe is any worse than the majority of KU PG's during the Self era. He turns it over, but they all have. That's the difference between a true PG & a combo guard.

Definitely agree with this. Self seems to favor combo guys then just picks one to be the point guard. I don't get it, but hard to argue with coach's success with it.
