Well the worst thing that can happen if for the players to just "shake it off." Sure, that's what should be said in public, but I got home for the 9th (watching son play tennis!!!), and all the love for this quality loss met with the excuses about the cold weather are a step in the wrong direction. I'm pretty sure the Sox don't do spring training in Alaska, so it was the same for them too. I'm not saying you jump off a cliff for this, but they need to know that "playing it cool" and not overreacting for long stretches has let to a lot of failed seasons in the recent past.

In a style that only Francouer can provide, he swings at a breaking ball that looked almost like a hanger, but being pull happy, he rolls over it and grounds it meekly to short. If he does what any SMART hitter would do down by 1 with a man on second, which is go with the pitch to opposite field, it's a tie ballgame.

I'm COUNTING how many games Francouer costs us this year. IMO, this is one.

Francouer wasn't the problem. He had two hits in the 8 hole. I'll take that every day.

Come on George, aside from the HR the White Sox batters weren't exactly killing it either. We got the bad end of a pitchers duel. If we're hitting like this against their 2 and 3 starters then I'd be worried.

I fully expect them to come home for the opener 1-5. They'll get swept in Philly. Probably eek out one win in Chicago if they're lucky. Peavey will win Wednesday.

Then to make it perfect, they'll probably get their ass kicked by the Twins in the opening home stand. Y'know, like give up seven runs in the first inning of the first home game. If we learned anything last year, it's that this team totally sucks at home. They'll have to prove to me otherwise.

I hope they raise their Cactus League Pennant on April 8th. Hang it in one of the concourse men's rooms.

I hope we "raise the warning flag" long before we're 15 games under .500 this year.

We've all seen how "it's only one loss" and "they were competitive" slip into being way out of reach.

Like I said, these players need to learn from history, stay calm "visibly" but be scared shitless on the inside.

Yup, one game into it and my hand's on the rope to raise the warning... We aren't the ****ing Yankees or the ****ing Red Socks!
