Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Not sure if it's been said in this thread yet. Stag is the retail division of CMT (Continental Machine and Tool) back in the day of limited options, CMT used to provide parts for all the big names; (bushmaster, colt, armalite, rra) however most companies now produce their own parts in house.

Stag is just as good of quality as anyone and better than most. Not to say they can't make a mistake and let something slip through qc, but so could any other manufacturer as well.

Yep. If they were far way I'd got for the AR, but if they're close, AK all day.

We had this discussion here last year. Deja Vu.

.50 Beowulf has to be $$$$, and it's not like you can just pick up brass and dies just anywhere.

I will be back. I want to see how much energy those big SOB's bring to the table.

Nah, just list the primary caliber. No need to update.

Interesting, a 400grain Beowulf at 1900fps delivers 3200 ft/lbs of energy.

A 180 grain .308 isn't far off at 2900 ft/lbs.

I have a feeling that the Beowulf transfers a lot more of that energy at close range, though.

No shit. Building up my 308 was a pain in the ass. I went dpms pattern for the aftermarket support, still a pain though.
Now that it's built I don't regret it, but 2 years of planning and building.

Did you build a DPMS Bull? My father has an 18" DPMS .308, and it is a cool rifle.

Never tried them, tapco generally makes garbage so they probably suck.

Now if magpul ever decided to make ak mags, I'd jump all over those.

This looks interesting for a .308. Very pricey, but I can start saving now.....

No, there's a picture of it earlier in this thread. 16" med weight barrel. Would rather have less weight for carrying it, than any accuracy increase beyond 500y or so. Average hunting shot up here is less than 100y anyways.
