The country music repository thread

I've considered doing this for a long time but often figured I was the only one that cared. Kyle DeLexus' thread has shown me that's not the case.

If you have an appreciation for country music feel free to use this as a place to post videos, news, personal favorites lists, concert experiences and anything else country related. Old or new doesn't matter. Just have fun with it and ignore the haters.

Naturally I have to post the greatest country song of all time as a starter.

Man I'd post videos of the entire Ropin' in the Wind album by Garth Brooks but I couldn't find a video of Rodeo that was actually Garth singing.

That came out when I was 3 and I wore the tape out until I no longer owned a tape player and 21 years later I still listen to the CD frequently.

George and Garth are the two I grew up on and it doesn't get much better IMO.

He has a lot of really enjoyable songs. I am pretty sure that I have all of his CD's.

Speaking of perfect songs....

He was born in the summer of his 27th year
comin home to a place he'd never been before
he left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
you might say he found a key for every door

When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
one the road and hangin by a song
but the strings already broken and he doesn't really care
it keeps changin fast and it don't last for long

in the colorado rocky mountian high
i've seen it raining fire in the sky
the shadows from the starlight are softer than a lullaby
rocky mountian high..... colorado
rocky mountain high..... colorado

he climbed to feel the mountains, he saw silver clouds below
he saw everything as far as you can see
and they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun
and he lost a friend but kept the memory

now he walks in quiet solitude, the forest and the streams
seeking grace in every step he takes
his sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
the serenity of a clear blue moutain lake

and the colorado rocky mountain high
i've seen it raining fire in the sky
talk to God and listen to the casual reply
rocky mountain high...... colorado
rocky mountain high...... colorado

Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
of the simple things he cannot comprehend
while they try to tear the mountains down and bring in a couple more...
more people... more scars upon the land

and the colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it raining fire in the sky
know he'd be a poor man if he never saw an eagle fly...
rocky mountain high
the colorado rocky mountain high
i've seen it raining fire in the sky
friends around the campfire and everybodys high.................

rocky mountain high..... colorado......
repeat...
