Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)
A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

They're getting credit, winning awards during award season validates that thought. But even the actors not getting the nominations have been really good. My point was perhaps not well made, but the depth of the acting talent across the entire show is a part of it's success that isn't widely discussed. Credit to the actors and directors.

I'm gonna guess that's unlikely. Normally they have to put nude requirements into contracts. Obviously, she wouldn't have those one in there from the beginning, and she's got a lot of bargaining power to keep it out at this point.

The show has made Sansa out to be more vengeful sounding that in the books, and they have now clearly turned her into a player of the game as opposed to a mere pawn in the game. That is a bit of a departure from the books so far, but she is older on the show than in the books, so it makes sense for it to happen sooner. I like where her character is headed, and I hope that continues in book 6 when it comes out.

To all of you wondering what happens if GRRM dies. I believe it is in all of HBO contracts that if the creator dies before completion, like books that aren't finished yet. GRRM told HBO the ending, so if he dies they know where to take the show.

He has said he has all the outlines of how the story gets from where it is currently to the end. He has not chosen a writer to take it there because he doesn't plan on dying. Remember that from an interview.
