gall blader taken out

A couple weeks ago my side started hurting. About 4 out of the 10 pain scale on my right side. Naturally i thought it was my liver since i down a bottle of nyquil a night along with jack danials. Well then i noticed it happened only after a bottle of nyquil and some fast food. Went to the old doctor today and he pressed right on my gall bladder and of course i jumped up with my nightie on in pain sending my wang flailing around. I also gave blood today and almost passed out. See when i was 13 a rookie nurse took a blood sample and decided to use my vein as a super soaker 9000 and squirted it all over the place. Man I was so nervous it has been like 10 years since i have been to a doctor I am 222 (218) with my shoes off. I walk all the time (Slag sees me all the time walking) anyway anyone have thier gallbladder removed I think thats what the problem is because I have ate so many bags of cheetos hot fries i am now paying the price.

So now at work i am on the injured list probable to doubtful. Mel Kiper said this was the risk they had choosing me was that i was going to have gallbladder troubles.

You shouldn't have downed that second bottle of Nyquil.

Sounds painful. Note to self, never down a bottle of nightquil(sp) and Jack Daniels, this could possibly cause gullbladder, liver, spleen, heart, lung and intestine problems.

Piece of cake these days. They can do most of them arthoscopically on out out patient basis. My wife had hers out in '90 when the procedure was fairly new. Went home that night, and I left her with our baby daughter the next day.

Gallbladder surgery is really non-invasive 4 tiny little holes for incisions Most people are back to where they should be within a few days. And your liver will actually create a gallbladder within itself... pretty cool.

The best way to tell if it is your gall bladder....if the pain starts in your back and works it's way to the front....

I had mine taken out in 1990....I was in surgery at 10 AM....and headed out the door at 2 PM. You have 3 incisions....and all they do is either staple them closed or stitch with a butterfly bandage.

One thing for sure, once you get healed and resume normal eating....never be more than 5 minutes from a bathroom until your digestive system gets acclimated to the missing gall bladder. Unless, of course you don't mind wearing depends. (It's all rapid fire for the first few times man)

I had mine out. It's no big deal. I didn't even notice it missing. Sometimes I wonder what it was for, but I've never been curious enough to look it up. Ignorance is bliss, I say.

It regulates the amount of bile released into your digestive system. Your liver actually creates the bile.

Whenever you have it taken out, your liver just takes over and does the regulating also...

One thing is for sure...if you have problems with constipation, taking out your gall bladder changes that.

Like the others before me, I've had my taken out as well. A few years of hard-core drinking will do it. The pain was incredible when I had the gall bladder, but now it's absolutely nothing and I'm glad I don't have it anymore. The surgery was seamless and I was out of the hospital the next morning. It took a couple of days before all was normal again.
