Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Well, I got my new free float hand guard in the mail. Somehow I clicked on the wrong item and ended up with a green one. Obviously meant to order black.

****. Now I've got to return it and get a replacement. I blame the Chiefs.

Nice to see that I managed to select the photo for the correct one for the picture I linked, though.

At least you don't have to wait for 3-4 weeks like I do for my Saiga rail.

This bastard better be solid.

I agree lets keep it going.
Went out opening day for doves. Where I went we are building a railroad.
We have just finished the new depot. I tripped about 50 or so yards from the depot,& the old stage coach shotgun went off.
Took out 3 brand fricking new windows.
So I shot 6 doves & 3 windows opening day. Not sure what it is going to cost me yet. I will post pics of the damage when I get back out there to fix them in week or two.

Will you get fined for going over your limit on double-paned windows?

.308. That is a photo off of TWS website. There is a photo of my gear a few pages back on this thread.

Arsenal does a very nice conversion. Should be a nice rifle.

My next purchase is either an Polish AK or a DPMS 20-24" AR-15. Obviously one is a little cheaper then the other, but with all of the upgrades one has to do to an AK, I might just go Vepr, Arsenal, or Red Jacket.

I will see how my conversion goes on my .308, first. If it is as easy as it looks, I can buy a Saiga AK for around $300 and convert it with all of the goodies for around $300.

Damn, gun too old for a solid safety? I'm relatively OCD about gun safety I think I would freak out without a solid safety. Just falls under the 'incaseshit' rules. Realistically with care nothing is going to happen, but man I don't want to have to deal with it. Still you're lucky you didn't end up pulling a Cheney!

Yea saida's are cheap to convert and normally I'd probably just do the conversion myself. BUT I'm so killed with time right now with work that I'd buy the saiga and it'd sit on the shelf for 2 years till I get the time to covert it. I'd rather buy it 'done' and actually be able to shoot it soon.

The nice thing about the arsenal is that it's not just a Saiga, it's actually a Legion, which is Saiga's sport shop. So you get more of a race gun that's good to go. It's more expensive but sometimes it's nice to have a solid shooter out of the box.

You just described my problem. I have been planning the conversion for 1 1/2 years, but have yet to take the time to actually do it.

Make sure your new AK doesn't use the side mount for your rail. Mine shifts like a SOB, hence the new TWS rail coming in.

Are you going with the 7.62x39 or a 5.56x39?

7.62! 5.56 is for the AR

I've got too much of a backlog of guns to buy....I think my dealer is going to love me in the next few months. I wonder if I can work out a volume discount!

Thanks for the tip, I'll check.
