Anyone here at CP involved with printing / book binding?

I have 10 (not including front and back cover) 11x8.5 pages that I need in a softbound book with perfect binding. I already have the document created... just need it on paper.

Looked around online and have become frustrated because several sites state they offer softcover binding for 11x8.5 in a softcover landscape w/perfect binding but when I get to the end and am ready to check out... it either states that I have to reduce the document to a 9x7, hardbind, or spiral bind. This has me seriously vexed.

Probably has to do with the bleed. I haven't had to print anything in a while, though, so I'm not sure if that's excessive, though.

This link might explain what I'm talking about/

Honestly, I would just call the place and have them explain what they need from you.

Sadly, we don't do perfect binding, (we only coil or comb bind). However, we do have a bindery place that we use for "special" projects. I can give them a call tomorrow and see if they can perfect bind.

Edit: How many total books are you needing?

I was actually referred to a site called viovio.

Had to condense it to a 9x7 but got 5 books printed for under $50 shipped. Calling it done for now. Thanks tho.

That is including priority mail.

books were $7 a piece.

I didn't realize that included shipping. That's not bad, I guess.

$150?! Were they going to print the covers on gold or something?! 30 minutes w/ an escort? I mean... HOLY HELL!!

Don't be turned-off by local print shops though. That one could have screwed up on their pricing or they don't normally print small quantity books and didn't know what to charge.

Online companies are ok to use, but I would be careful. I had a customer call me up a few months ago to order business cards. He originally placed an order online for some business cards. He got his order and they had printed their company logo on the back of his cards. Needless to say, he was pissed. He had one of his customers actually call him a cheapskate.

When he called me up, I designed a custom logo and printed them on a nice UV coated-stock. He called me again a few days ago and told me that quite a few of his customers were raving about the cards. There's nothing better than hearing from a satisfied customer! That call really made my day!

Worked at Kinkos for several years. My store did perfect binding. No reason you can't do 8.5x11, other than a bit of a trim to make the edges flush.

I used perfect binding for my last project. In my project I had around 400 pages and had this binding. Perfect Binding puts all pages and signatures together and booklets, telephone directories also use this binding.
