check Raymore too. nicer than Belton etc. of the 3 (Belton, Grandview, Harrisonville) Raymore is the nicest IMO. Raymore is basically just on the E side of 71 hwy, whereas Belton is on the W side.
I used to Live in Peculiar and Grandview (Move from Grandview to Peculiar). |

I'd put Raymore into your search plan. It's the quickest developing part of the Bel-Ray area. Not a lot of apartments in Belton proper that I'd recommend, most non-house property in Belton is on the seedier side. There's a decent complex near my parents, but they're much smaller than 3BR
If price isn't that much of an object, I'd also look closer to the state line. Lots of great stuff off Holmes from 435 to Martin City. There's a decent sized complex in Grandview right off Red Bridge, was nice in years past, but I haven't been in there in over 10 years. Lakewood is decent and newish, right off 71 and within walking distance of groceries and restaurants. Its in Belton, but right on that Bel-Ray line. http://www.forrent.com/apartment-com.../999905764.php

I would agree with previous posters and add Raymore to your list. I know there are some nice apartments/townhomes along 58 highway called Eagle Glen (there is both a housing development and some apartments as well). We have some friends that have a house there, and his father is in the apartments just a few blocks away. Very nice, quiet, suburban neighborhood.

Shady Lane in Belton.
Is it still called Shady Lane?

Luv - with Harrisonville/Belton/Raymore etc in 'general' is there aren't a ton of apartment options to begin with; Belton and Harrisonville in particular are older rural type towns that have just started to really expand in the last decade etc, not a ton of need for apartments etc. Yeah, they're are some, but not a lot of the sprawling type complexes that are in the city. The ones that I remember are the apartments on 58hwy by Eagle Glenn homes (in fact I think this is the name of the apartments). The other I think of is more town home oriented in Belton behyind teh Hy-Vee on 58hwy. As others PM me if you want etc I'd be happy to help; I lived in Peculiar for 4 years; was in Belton/Raymore every weekend / errands etc. Lived in Grandview for 4 years...personally, wouldn't recommend it. some spots are nice, but some spots are not good at all. |

Look in Harrisonville. Of the ones listed, it offers a lot of plusses. Belton I would avoid like a disease. Raymore has some upside but the traffic is horrible. It will cost more than H'ville but no benefit for the extra money.
In H'ville you will also find rental homes available that wont break you. Dont overlook Pleasant Hill.

Yeah, I liked the Pleasant Hill area. I LOVED living in Peculiar.
but, I sort of like being 'out of town' anyway but fuel costs were killing us. P-Hill is nice. |

Girl in wheelchair has monthly appointments in Harrisonville. I completely forgot about Peculiar. And these people don't need "nice". Think along the lines of a guy in a wife beater who doesn't want to get a job. His daughter has a trust that pays for housing. You get the picture.

I'd say Beloton, Harrisonville, or Peculiar. really affordable places etc; might not be your traditional 'complex', but you get the point. I think Peculiar is 7 miles from Belton/Raymore and Harrisonville. right in the middle. |
