Bomb Exploded at Boston Marathon Finish Line

I've heard an unconfirmed report (a co-worker's girlfriend called him) that there was a bomb at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, with people injured. I am hearing multiple sirens, though I'm not in the Copley area.

If they're cleared yeah i do feel really badly for them. their life likely won't be the same regardless. Social media has ****ed them and that sucks, something relatively harmless might put red targets on their backs for life.

I dunno man, the internet is relentless, racist, vile, persistent. Those guys are also 'brown skinned' and unfortunately there are people out there that can't get past the stone age and have literally nothing better to do than harass and who knows what else. IMO they will be dealing with this for a while. I mean thousands, THOUSANDS of people online have seen those two's photos and people pointing them out as suspects. Especially in this day and age where so much misinformation is spread via facebook,twitter,messageboards and whathaveyou.

I don't have a facebook so I didn't get to see what was being posted but I'd assume that his page got a HUGE spike of activity and that triggered facebook to put a lock on that shit

Yep, and he had his settings to where anyone could post on his page. He actually just deleted the earlier post with all the comments, and posted that he was back home. Still has his shit open to the public though.

While I agree with your sentiment, I think you are full of shit saying you don't care what color/nationality the bomber is. I believe (I'm not confirming 100% in a thread this size) you've said you were hoping it was a white guy prior to the above post.

Yes, the initial reaction on this board of a FEW people was immediately to blame a color/nationality. The comments they made, and the obvious outrage of many on this board (myself included) at their comments got them ejected from the thread fairly quickly.

But I've also seen several in this thread make "White RWNJ" comments or "I hope it was a white guy." Frankly, I don't think "I hope it's a white guy" is any better than a "Look for the Muslims" comment.
