Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

If this guy was a large guy with huge hands the physical size of the XDS may have been the problem. He may not have been able to get enough of it in his hand. The extended mag helps with that, but of course if its your carry piece then you want to be good with it with the standard mag.

I got my 3" Kimber dirt cheap because a woman I knew was having this trouble. Every 2nd or 3rd round jammed. I shot it 3 years without any trouble and without any mods/adjustments.

I can't find any of the 300 or 500 round bulk packs that I normally buy. Online places are sold out, too. Its been that way for weeks now.

They have some of the bulk 500 boxes of .22LR in my part of Virginia. Lots of .308 surprisingly.

I bought the very last box of 7.62 last night.

As far as .223/556 ammo goes.... no way jose!

The Kel-Tec SU-16 I've been looking for was $1500 (usually $550), I laughed at the dealer. No 5.56 or 7.62x39 to be found.

Supply issues aside, and I'm keeping a list of dealers in my area that are being stupid, there were some good deals on pistols, shotguns and non-AR rifles. Decent SKSs were still under $400, and Glocks were the lowest I've seen in years. I think all the money has been going into black rifles and dealers are having trouble moving anything else.
Now is the time to be buying shotguns. I want that new Kel-tec shotgun but no one has it. Anyone know if it's available?

.308 is a big game hunting cartridge!!!! That's probably why people aren't freaking out. The 5.56/.223 was designed to hunt humans, hence, it's pricey.

Looks like the panic buying has gone into overdrive. I noticed on one site that I started seeing 10rd magazines being out of stock...then I checked another...and looked at midway and all of the 10rd glock mags were even out of stock.

WTH people do you think you won't be able to get even 10 round mags???? I mean there's preparation just in case, and then there's slipping PCP into everyone's water supply.

Sadly I expect it to go into overdrive tomorrow. It is 'D-Day' then, bill is supposed to be introduced the first day of the 2013 congress which is noon Jan 3rd.

This summer I picked up a Springfield XD Tactical 5 inch bi-tone, awesome gun.

However, the gun isn't part of the story. The guy I bought it from told me to stock up on .223/5.56 this winter because he felt like the prices were about to sky rocket and the ammunition would become a trade able commodity. I thought he was mildly crazy when I heard that, but now...........I dunno. Wish I would have jumped on some of the offers for my buddies 5.56 surplus now.

5.56 was designed to kill varmints, but they found in the 50's and 60's that it was exceptional at destroying human flesh.
