Is my landlord ****ing me?

My landlord recently added a "$25 check processing fee" to my account out of nowhere.

Not only have I never paid them a check processing fee before, but it's not in the lease.

I've paid via check for a year and half with no extra fees. So...do I have to pay them or what?

I feel like they're trying to **** me.

Well, if you're accustomed to paying it already, $1,500 will buy you quite a bit of house here in KC when you're able to buy.

You mean east. The south part of this neighborhood is fine, too. I used to live at 85th and Wornall.
I had a co worker who lived a few blocks east of Wornall at 83rd or about bought his first house started a family. Shortly after and the kid wasnt yet 1 year old his door kicked in he woke got pistol whipped and knocked out. He forced his wife to get all money and jewelry put in a sack and took a few more items and was out there. He went to hospital for stitches and observation. That was 20 years ago cops told him he was surrounded by a lot of crime. Wife who was from OP forced him to sell and move to southern Olathe in a house that was all he could do to make his mortgage. They divorced about 5 years later and she got everything.

I'm not looking to go crazy. I probably won't spend more than $140,000.

The ass I've had in the interim has been well worth her share of the rent.

I tell you what's amazing, is how much housing prices plummet when you cross Troost.

Hey, here's a house for $50,000...just don't keep anything inside it.

That probably describes living in Overland Park anymore.
