I interviewed Joe Elliott of Def Leppard today
He came into the studio and hung out with me for about 20 mins. Dude loves to talk. makes my job easier...

this day and age it's very hard - this society is getting pwned by youth - it's somewhat getting destroyed - kids see their Grandparents as Skyrim dragons and sphere them w/ a pitchfork, these days. Jeez i must be getting old.

But the girl I date off and on - here child is brilliant - but 12 wanting to be 18 - straight A student - yet just a real, constant challenge. She has her hands full - so i've seen first hand just how hard it really is.

I'm not a big fan of Def Leppard, but, they are huge in the rock world. Are they rock like Ozzy or Godsmack or Metallica? No. But rock features all kinds of textures. Hard, crunchy, smooth, soft, poppy etc. Def Leppard falls into the pop rock category for sure.

And I've seen many many shows in my career, and Def Leppards shows are amazing, not because of them so much, or even their performance. Their shows are amazing because of the crowd. They are singing every song, loudly and really enjoying every moment. It's quite the scene.

But, I am not a fan really. I'm a radio programmer/on air talent that respects the foundation of the format I work in. Joe Elliot is a legend in rock, whether you like the band or not. And for me, and my career, today was a highlight. Ozzy was a highlight as was James Hetfield and the ultimate was Robert Plant. And ow Joe Elliott. Plus the dude was cool. Very cool. Some artist, not nearly as big in the music world are one who sucks the peniss, but he was incredibly approachable. Ozzy was as well.

It's days like today that I feel grateful for what I do and know I'm a very lucky woman.

And to Simply Red, I thought you were insulting me. If you weren't, my apologies.

I wasn't - I was really asking - i hadn't remembered - if that's you in your avy - the answer is obvious. I thought by now you'd know i'd support you in every way and be proud of you - just like the others,

This....I didnt really listen to much past Adrenalize, but i did listen to the CD they out out about 10 years ago called X. To me it was decent, but pure pop. I think they even worked with some of NSYNCs song writers.

I kinda ragged on them earlier in the thread, but the truth is, i like alot of their music. They are very good at what they do: Pop Rock

They released a CD in 96 called 'Slang'. Fairly different material than their normal stuff. I love it.

Did Judas Priest or Maiden turn into a bunch of Boy Band wanna be's?

I saw D L on their first tour and they totally rocked out. When the 90's hit they sold out and cut their hair like Bon jovi.

They would have been Rock legends like Scorpions, VH, Rush, OZZy- but they went the pop root- good for them. They keep touring the same good songs from 25 years ago because their albums have been horrible.

Has ANY band wasted a great guitarist as bad as they waste VIV? He was amazing with DIO- now he is just a background muscician- is his guitar even plugged in?

Sad to think what kind of badass music they could have put out if they stayed true to their roots- and then added a shreader like V C. Instead they have to play- pour some sugar on me every night-lol and play county fairs. That is what happens to Sell Outs.
