Battlefield 3

Anyone looking forward to this? I really like BC2, but haven't been playing it long.

Call of Duty will go head-to-head with Battlefield 3 in 2011.

The third game in the series, which will be shown to press during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, is set for release this coming fall, Electronic Arts confirmed.

The publisher revealed the first teaser trailer for the game on its official website tonight. The trailer, which contains no actual gameplay, displays quick cuts of helicopters, ground troops, tanks and fighter jets.

Additional details courtesy of the official Battlefield Blog confirm a full single-player and co-op campaign, jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer for the PC version. The Frostbite 2 engine will power the game and a Limited Edition will be revealed around GDC.

Developer DICE confirmed earlier this morning it was canceling the release of Battlefield 1943 and the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught pack for PC.

I need to open up my game case thingy; I'm pretty sure I have a slip of paper in there with some sort of code.

Not for sure. I did see a picture of the map. Looks like the U.S. carrier that was out in the ocean in BF2 has run aground in the middle of Wake.

Did you notice the bobcat driving around with the engineer on the front and the back at about the 50 sec. mark in the vid?

Me too brother.

Oh and how is Co-op when you are going in with people you don't know? If you aren't very good, do they leave or kick you out? I want to do it, so I can get my last gun for Recon. Should I just join one of the Cpers in Co-op?

not sure. I haven't ventured into the Co-op world just yet.

I know you get unique guns when doing it. I've unlocked all Recon guns except one which I have to Co-op to get. Hmmm. Guess I will research.

It took a while for me to get my stick sensitivity set to where I liked it (NTTAWWT). And yeah, depending one what game mode you're in - Conquest, or Rush - there can seem like there are lots of campers. I thought the same thing until I realized that they were probably defending a flag or MCOM respectively.

I quickly realized that I had to sort of plan my route from A to B if running out in the open/crossing a large area. Sometimes, I would just find an alternate route. But, typically when moving at all/advancing etc, taking cover, or taking a route to where you canget to cover quickly is a must.

Also, I recommend sticking with a squadmate or teammate as much as possible. If you both encounter a runner/gunner/lone wolf, chances are he won't get you both. if he does cap one of you, you can respawn onto that squadmante or vice versa. Depending on what class each of you are running, you can support each other with ammo packs and medical packs. And, you don't want to be alone if you turn a corner and you have 3 guys from the other team staring you down, etc.

And remember, in Conquest, it's all about capturing the flags/objectives. If I recall, if your team captures more than 1/2 the flags, the other teams tickets start getting used up at a rate of like 1 per 3 seconds or something. I've played with an entire team before that didn't capture a single flag because they were all worried about their own K/D ratio. So, that can get frustrating.

Finally, remember your role/class you select and do that job. Engineer, fix things and blow chit up. Assualt.....advance/assault and lay down med packs. Support, lay down a butt load of fire and drop ammo. Support is great when you're with a buddy - you can suppress the enemy/keep him pinned down while your buddy gets closer/takes him out if you don't first.

Sorry for the long post; but I had a really tough time starting out too as this was my first BF game. But man, it truly does get better and better the more you play it. Especially if you get in a squad/team that knows it's not MW3/BOPs and plays the game as a team.

I'm on PS3; tag is bubbjo23. hit me up some time. I try to play a little during the week, and usually play a good chunk of hours on the weekend.
I sent you a friend request about a week ago. This game is pretty much all I play now.

Okay, so this may seem like a lame question, but once I get into a series of games (I played TDM last night), how do I get back out to the main MP menu? I seriously tried every button to get out of the game lobby, but nothing worked.

It only took a lawsuit to get EA to realize they owed PlayStation 3 owners a free copy of Battlefield 1943, and the company today announced they will do just that: everyone who purchased Battlefield 3 for the PlayStation 3 will get a free copy of the downloadable title.

EA says it was a “misunderstanding”, but in reality, there was no misunderstanding: EA didn’t follow up on their promise and instead gave PS3 owners something else and of much less value: one week early access to Battlefield 3 DLC.

EA has set up a new site at 1943redemption.battlefield.com, where vouchers for BF1943 will be given out

With Co-Op you can either play with a friend or play with another person that will be paired with you. Skill level does not matter. Your partner can leave however and that will stop the mission though.

I have unlocked all weapons for both Co-Op and the regular game. The M39 is outshined by the SKS. The 93R is fun to play with sometimes but once you have the G18, the 93R is set on the back burner. Haven't used the G3A3 to have a honest opinion. MP7 keeps rounds on target but is limited in range and clip size. The only weapon I use regularly from Co-Op is the SG553. I prefer it over the Scar-H.
