49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Remember some Chief fans dont know what a long ball is. We havnt seen one in years. Alex wont change that but Geno can.

But when combined with the fact that he and the 9ers were among the bottom dwellers in third down conversion percentage, that might a case of YPA being inflated by recievers getting room to run in third and long situations, to some extent.

Just guesing and speculating.

But just looking at those numbers, something just doesn't add up.

He throws more long balls than Alex Smith too. He throws more balls period making him have a better arm to trust long term, if you are wanting a QB that throws a lot of balls. Alex Smith is good at handoffs to make him successful.

Geno Smith also hasn't played a down of NFL football yet. Comparing a vet to a college players stats is pointless.

You do know its alot easier to throw in college then the NFL right? A college QB that checks down that much is a red flag.
