Blaming this on the Michael Sam situation is just outrageously stupid.

It wouldn't surprise me if people are using the DGB incident to negative recruit Missouri, but that can cut both ways. Talking about family and expectations and standards and then letting that guy slide consistently is just as big, if not bigger, a weapon.

Key recruits to watch at this point for me are guys like Terry Beckner and Anree St. Amour. Both are early/high priority targets. If things go sour there, then there is a problem with this class.

Nice post duncan, you make great points. I'm not trying to be an ass even though I'm in chicken little mode right now, I will listen to reason. This last part is crucial and we still have a chance with these guys, I'm just worried that Stoops and everyone else will mess that up cause they're doing a great job of it s far.

And you're correct that things look like a typical Pinkel class but he really needs to do better if they want to succeed in this conference in the long run. Tennessee and Florida will not be this bad forever.

I'd like to see better recruiting results as well, in terms of hitting on highly ranked guys that they're in competition for.... but I also have to extend some benefit of the doubt.

Missouri has consistently found second-tier 3-star talent that it brings into its system and develops into a more productive player than ranking would suggest under Gary Pinkel. Because of that, the recruiting rankings don't tell the whole story for Missouri.

every coach out there is negatively recruiting mizzou (and very other team). It has literally always been this way.

Most high school seniors are idiots, and football players moreso. I wouldn't fret much about what one kid said. Of course OU's recruiters are going to paint Missouri in the worst possible light--they're butthurt over us leaving the Texas Conference and they have to save face for taking a player we kicked off the team due to moral turpitude.
