RPI is a mathmatical factor used to determine individual team rankings and overall conference rankings for the regular season.
For the 2006 season the Big Ten was ranked #1 in RPI. If you do not accept RPI as a valid ranking tool I'm interested to hear the objective measuring standard you use in it's stead.

Regular season is separate from NCAA tourney performance in which the Big Ten this year has so far endeavored to shit the bed.

On the other hand can you name the conference that has had the most appearances by two or more teams in the Final Four in the same year?

I was 2 seconds from heading over to the tivo to fire up the game and I saw this thread. I couldn't resist. Now I can spare myself the frustration and delete the damn thing. Completely pathetic. The Hawkeyes shouldn't even get invites to the tourney, they never show up anyway.
