If you're ever in Los Felix/Silverlake, hit Ricky's Fish Tacos. He's only open from 12-4 each day but they're the best fish tacos I've had outside of Gardenia's in San Jose Del Cabo.

They're cheap, too.
Yeah, it's crazy... I've seen more variety of international food in a 6 block radius of a hotel in Pasadena than all of KC, and KC is pretty solid.

Nice... not sure when I'll be around there again, but will keep it in mind. I was thinking about heading to Anaheim for hockey at some point.

Final Cut is pretty good. But make sure you don't get the $24.99 Wed or Thursday special. It's not the same cut of meat. J Gilberts was very good too.

OVERRATED: Hereford House, Golden Ox

BEST CHAINS: Not Texas Roadhouse. Not sure why everybody likes that place. If you are going to eat a budget steak, it needs alot of seasoning. Longhorn and Outback way better, with Longhorn being the best for chains IMO.

BEST HIDDEN GEM: Taste of Brazil (not really a full cut, but pretty close, picanha or however you spell it)

What happened to Plaza III? It used to see it listed as one of the best steak houses in the US and I never hear about it anymore.

I was gonna ask the same thing. I ate there some years ago and had a blackened prime rib that was amazing.

I rarely order a steak anywhere because 9 times out of 10, the taste doesn't justify the price at a restaurant. But there was one time where we went to Plaza III a few years back for a birthday dinner of a relative and I ordered a yuuuge ribeye. It was unreal good.

also had one at the restaurantt inside Union Station that was really good, but not like the Plaza III steak.

I'm always very very very reluctant to order a steak anywhere unless I get some confirmation from people (like here at CP) that it doesn't suck. Nothing worse than dropping $30-50 on a steak and it sucks.

Pierponts. They make a good steak. I, personally, have always had good luck at J. Gilberts.
