Has anyone else heard the Elvis clip on Cnnsi.com?

Is this guy a fruitcake or what? All he does is bad mouth K.C. whenever he gets a mic on. I admit, I was an Elvis supporter when he was here but now I just wish, really bad, that we played Baltimore. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, you ought to check it out, it's guaranteed to put you in a bad mood.

I haven't heard it (no sound card at work), but I can imagine.

That pu$$y is acting like he helped the Ravens win the SB last year.

As more and more time passes, the happier I am about him leaving KC, even if it had forced KC to sign Dilfer or use Todd Collins.

Here is the interview almost word for word. Enjoy!

Elvis: In San Francisco, I came from that mentality that if you don't win the Super Bowl it's not a winning season so I know where the mentality is and the confidence and attitude you have to defend as the Super Bowl Champion, I know what it takes.

Reporter: Are you prepared for having the finger pointed at you over and over again?

Elvis: Sure, sure. I think Kansas City was a great opportunity for the finger being pointed at me and I learned from that, and I think having the confidence coming in here and having a positive attitude coming in here, everybody says, "well he's got to step in and be the QB of the defending Super Bowl champion", there is a positive there, you've got to see the positive and really take that challenge on.

From here he talks about the offense and how he is a master of the West Coast offense and everything is going great.

Reporter: You're making these comparisons to San Francisco, it's been a long time since you've been in San Francisco. Are you operating under the "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all" policy?

Elvis: (Elvis lets out a dorky laugh) Of Kansas City. Kansas City, I tell you what, their organization is run very, very good. It was just unfortunate that under Marty Schottenheimer when we would get into the post season and we would fall in the first game. But under Coach Schottenheimer and really under Gunther Cunningham we faced some adversity, obviously I made some mistakes there and said some things I shouldn' t have said and I think that's the maturity process you go through as a QB and that's why I feel so comfortable coming here.

Reporter: Are you already more comfortable here in Baltimore than you ever were in Kansas City?

Elvis: Oh, there's no doubt, there's no doubt. I think the difference betweent the two is the comraderie of the players, defensively and offensively. You walk into the locker room, it's night and day. You've got a guy like Shannon Sharpe and a number of guys that just comes up to you and talks to you no matter what the situation is. There's other teams where somebody will say something about you and somebody will take wrong, but here it's kind of like if you can't take the heat then you aren't part of the team, but if you can take the heat, it's great.

Reporter: When I say Trent Dilfer, what do you feel?

Elvis: I feel for him, but the number one thing I feel for him is that I'm glad in got a Super Bowl ring. I know what he went through with Tampa Bay because I went throught the same thing with Kansas City. For him to have the opportunity to win the S.B. was great for him. There's not too many people who can say they have a S.B. ring, he has one, I have one but Dan Marino doesn't have one.

Well, that's about it to the interview, as you can see our suspicions are totally confirmed, Elvis is an IDIOT!!!

Ok, after reading the recount below my only question is: What's the problem?

He's joining a SB winning team and he was with a SB winning team, thus the SF reference.

He commented on how dealt with being a lightening rod for the fans and media in KC. There's no denying that fact. He also complimented the Chiefs as an organization and took blame for his post season mistakes. Commented on our post season collapses without pointing any fingers at anyone. He also commented on how he stuck his foot in his mouth while here.

As for the comraderie of the teams, there's no denying the Chiefs have had their problems in that department in the last 5 or so years.

He even expressed sympathy for Dilfer.

Pardon me, but exactly what does the man have to do to get you people off his back? He's not our QB anymore. Everyone whipped him while he was here, deservedly sometimes. Why the continuance? This whole thread is truely sad.

tpmagicman,

Thanks for the recap.

I gave him the finger a couple of times.

What an ego-trippin fool.......

"There's not too many people who can say they have a S.B. ring, he has one(Dilfer), I have one but Dan Marino doesn't have one."
-Elvis Grbac

Somebody needs to tell him that it doesn't mean too much on his resume if he didn't play!

Exactly, what did he do to win it

He may have played a little throughout the season, but when the chips were down, he didn't play..

How f**king egotistical can someone be...

He made himself out to be a great player and still blamed his failures on the finger pointers who CORRECTLY pointed him out as the fault. He also compared himself to Dan Marino and implied that he has a SB ring so he must be as good as Dan who never had one....

ck_IN,

I somewhat understand your point of view, but let me tell you something, there was no bigger supporter of Elvis than I was. I hated the fact that we booed him at home. However, since then I have been reformed and shown the light on the situation. What he said about himself making mistakes has to be taken with a grain of salt or you're nieve. From day one, all Elvis has done is point the finger at everyone but himself. I didn't take what he said as admitting to any failures in the playoffs, I think he was talking about when he named names to the press and his name was no where to be seen. I am not basing my disdain for Girlbac on this one interview alone, this is just one grape off the vine of sour grapes he's had since leaving. And one thing everyone, including Elvis, should remember is that we tried to keep him, it was his decision to leave, so he should shut his mouth and play the game. It's just like his "great friend" Shannon Sharpe said, "If we don't win the Super Bowl, then Elvis was a wrong decision".

tpmagicman,

"It's just like his "great friend" Shannon Sharpe said, "If we don't win the Super Bowl, then Elvis was a wrong decision"

That's a pretty vague assessment. I mean, chemistry is hard to create. That being said, it's even harder to duplicate. Think about this: What if their offense is twice as good this season but, their defense gets big headed and lazy(see 2000 Rams)? Who's to say that keeping Dilfer would've got them back to the SB.
From what I'm reading of this interview, Elvis isn't being out of line. This isn't about sour grapes. The guy was booed last year while laying on his back because he got hit by a Charger. That would be pretty hard for anyone to take, especially if you're the starting qb. I felt Elvis did a fine job last year. However, Elvis is gone now and we should just forget about him. I was always pro Elvis when he was here but now, he's gone and I don't care either way about what he says or does. I think all you anti Elvis people are the ones who are spewing sour grapes.

It's one thing if he's upset about the way he was scrutinized by us Chiefs fans, but by badmouthing an organization that stuck by him through thick and thin just shows you how two-faced and classless Elvis really is. The Chiefs will ultimately have the last laugh when Elvis falls flat on his face while we slowly but surely build a legit contender.

What?

I have no earthly idea where some of you get your ideas?

Maybe someone would like to write down exactly what they would have prefered for Elvis to say?
