What's Wrong With My Car?

I came off the highway this morning and was stopping at the light at the bottom of the hill on the exit and my engine light comes out and it says engine power lost. I'm only able to do about 15 MPH's per hour now. Some type of belt problem? I'm a moran when it comes to cars.

I did that when I got to work and it did sound better, but the engine light was still on. Do you think it's safe to drive it 30 miles up the highway like that?

I'd alsmost venture to say if it 'just' now happened, and hasn't been a detoriating issue, it could be electrical. Since electrical either works, or doesn't.
Usually 'Bulletins' aren't covered (no cost) once out of warranty. Sounds like you should still be covered?

?

I think if a service bulletin (not a recall) is issued and the vehicle is still under warranty, it should be fixed at no cost.

if out of warranty, it's $ out of your pocket etc.

oh cool, car talk. We'll need more information sir. What's theyear, make and model of your car? When's the last time you changed your battery? Were your lights on? Is there a loose belt?

Sounds like the alternator to me...Go to advance auto parts or some auto parts place that checks your battery for free.

The dealer will hook it up to the computer and be able to tell right away what the issue is. It sounds like a sensor issue to me.
