I'm getting bored with all this domination. We need a challenge, and these teams aren't even giving us one.

That would be an upgrade on Butler 2014 version.

So far, I think the early returns are good, and you can make a good case that his disaster of a 2014 was based on sitting out so long, missing spring training, and never getting his timing back (or his body in shape).

You may not remember that I have not been a Billy Butler fan.

I just believe a guy that size, and who lacks his speed, should be more aggressive with his swings.

I'd sacrifice some points on avg for a little more pop.

Morales seems to have that approach, and I like to see it.

The only fluke is when someone actually gets a hitt off them. Nobody has ever watched them pitch and thought "why can't we hit these guys?". It's immediately apparent upon watching them that what they throw is borderline unhittable.

It's one thing to see Chen or Guthrie frustrate batters. Players are just glad when their at bats are over against the cyborgs. I mean, the first batter just looked at Herrera like "wtf are you throwing?". Add in the fact that we probably owe them a beanball or two, and those batters are not enjoying themselves. Any one of those guys can change your life with a misplaced fastball. If I were on the Angels, I might be the first player ever to charge the mound after my own pitcher plunked a batter...cuz I sure as shit wouldn't want to be the guy who receives the retaliation.

He's similar in that he is also a very naturally talented hitter who isn't good at anything else on the baseball field (for a major leaguer). Great hand-eye, good bat-to-ball skills.

Morales isn't a huge power guy, but he does have more loft in his swing.

I think Butler did start trying to hit for more power starting in 2012, but he lost some of his skill/bat speed after that season and his numbers dropped off.

The defeated looks and general approach from opposing batters when facing our pen is hilarious to watch as a fan. That stink eye Herrera got after he sat that 98 mph fastball in for a strike out looking last night had me genuinely laughing hard.

You wanna know funny, I was drunk enough to think a lazy Infante pop up to shallow left was a goner to the point I yelled quite loudly.

I felt shame

The guy stared at him the same way LaRoche stared at Duffy. He looked like he wanted to fight Herrera for making him look stupid.
