In 14 hours I will be under the knife
I have opted for the tissue valve as it seems to deliver the highest quality of life (no blood thinners for life, just a simple aspirin) and no internal ticking sound. They say I will have to have another surgery but the way it is now they've been doing a cather valve replacement for 2 years and I'm inclined to think that in the 15 before I will need it, they will have perfected it.

My letters are wrote to my children, my finances are in order, and I think I've handled everything that should be handled in case something bad happens to me.

I will attempt to give a shout out tomorrow after it is done, but worse case it will be Tuesday. If something should happen, I love this site, have been very fortunate to meet some of you and even more fortunate to have not . It's been great talking to you, in case of the latter.

good luck! You'll be fine. My girl's father just had triple bypass surgery a couple days ago and he's already out of icu at the fine age of 74. You'll do just as good if not better.

I had my aortic valve replaced with a mechanical one on June 26, 2009. At that time they told me doing it the old fashion way, (open heart) was over 99% mortality rate.

Glad to hear you have all the important stuff in order.
