If not #1, where?
The draftniks keep saying that Geno Smith isn't worth the #1 pick.
None of them say he isn't the top QB in the class though.
If we don't take him at #1 how far is he realistically going to fall?

I see no scenario where he falls out of the Top 10.

So if he's the top QB in a weak class...
QB is our biggest need...
And he's gonna go Top 10 anyway...

Why not at #1?

Am I wrong to say he won't fall out of the Top 10?

They don't need a mandate from Clark. Drafting Geno Smith #1 is the correct decision, especially since we are more likely than not to be faced with worse options than Geno over the next 3-4 years. If they trade down and aquire someone else's veteran garbage, I'm not going to wait and see, that'll be a discouraging mark against Reid and Dorsey unless they prove they were right.

The Chiefs have NEVER drafted a QB that worked out. It takes a great QB to win in the NFL. As someone said the other day, we need a G@D D@#M QB, so draft a G@D D@#M QB. If it takes drafting a G@D D@#M QB in RD1 , RD2 and RD3 then do it. We are probably the only team in the NFL that has never drafted and developed one that worked.

Yes, absolutely, especially since I've only seen two games in which he was far from impressive.

Also, I want to see for myself why of all these QB's are so "evenly" ranked and how well they perform in an equal environment.

It's because as I've stated previously, I rarely had time to watch any college football this season (and really, last season as well). When I had the opportunity to watch USC and WV, I was very unimpressed with both Smith and Barkley in 2012.

I get it. I've been there, too. But I'm not going to blow a gasket if the Chiefs don't take a QB with the #1 overall QB because I truly believe they have a QB Guru as head coach.

I'd be somewhat surprised if Reid's decision on a QB backfired, although he'd be keeping with the Chiefs tradition.
