A summary of our games this year

Here's an analysis of our wins and losses this year.

Wins by 15+ Points
(None)

Wins by 8-14 Points
4 Sep 28 DEN 19 @ KC 33 (Score at Half Den 10, KC 13)

Wins by 0-7 Points
13 Nov 30 KC 20 @ OAK 13 (Score at Half Oak 3, KC 10)

Losses by 0-7 Points
1 Sep 07 KC 10 @ NE 17 (Score at Half NE 7, KC 3)
8 Oct 26 KC 24 @ NYJ 28 (Score at Half NYJ 14, KC 14)
9 Nov 02 TB 30 @ KC 27 (Score at Half TB 13, KC 24)
10 Nov 09 KC 19 @ SD 20 (Score at Half SD 6, KC 13)
14 Dec 07 KC 17 @ DEN 24 (Score at Half Den 14, KC 17)
15 Dec 14 SD 22 @ KC 21 (Score at Half SD 3, KC 14)

Losses by 8-14 Points
11 Nov 16 NO 30 @ KC 20 (Score at Half NO 13, KC 10)

Losses by 15+ Points
2 Sep 14 OAK 23 @ KC 8 (Score at Half Oak 6, KC 0)
3 Sep 21 KC 14 @ ATL 38 (Score at Half Atl 24, KC 7)
5 Oct 05 KC 0 @ CAR 34 (Score at Half Car 21, KC 0)
7 Oct 19 TEN 34 @ KC 10 (Score at Half Ten 17, KC 0)
12 Nov 23 BUF 54 @ KC 31 (Score at Half Buf 30, KC 17)

Note the following:

1. In both of our wins, we led at halftime.
2. We had six close losses, of which 4 occurred in Week 9 or later.
3. Every one of the six close losses was very winnable. Very, very winnable. In fact, all were excruciating losses.
4. We led or were tied at halftime in 5 of the 6 close losses.
5. We lost one boring game by 10, and there is nothing of interest there other than we were only down by 3 at halftime.
6. We got blown out in five games, 4 of which occurred before Week 7. In all cases but one, we were getting blown out at halftime, though the Buffalo game was close until the last couple of minutes of the first half.

Looking at this, one realizes how close we could be to 8-6 right now. However, the odds of being better than that are low, and in actuality the odds of being 2-12 are 100 percent.

you know the dolphins lost a lot of close games last year. I believe they cleaned house and had a solid offseason...hmmm what do you know they're 9-5

Stunning development
