Chiefs Offseason Planet Evaluation: Harrison Butker

Butker! (That became my rallying cry after every field goal. Not very original, but effective.)

How did our rookie kicker do this year? Harrison's played in 13 games this season and his stats were as follows:

Field Goals

8 of 8 inside 30 yards
16 of 17 from 30-39 yards
10 of 12 from 40-49 yards
4 of 5 from 50+ yards

Total: 38 of 42 field goals

Extra points: 28 of 28

Total points scored: 142

I gave him an A+. He greatly exceeded expectations. I want his role to be about the same, or less. He had to kick too many field goals last season. I want to see him kicking less field goals and more extra points. He's only a rookie, so let's hope that he is ascending. I said trade for a first round pick. A lot for a kicker, but he is an exceptional kicker. If nobody wants to pony up a first, I would rather keep him.

I pondered lowering him to an A from an A+ for that. But in the end I decided that it was the curse and not him. I suspect that he'll have an MVP season next year when he plays for the Ermines, who are not cursed.

He missed the crucial field goal in the playoff game so he cannot get an A in my opinion

He got too many attempts because Alex had a terrible touchdown allergy

He should only see the field for extra points from here on out (because we will be scoring touchdowns now)

He was a shitload better than santos, I enjoy when kickers are boring

Yep. Meanwhile I feel like every other kicker in the playoffs outside of the Super Bowl nailed every kick they attempted.
