Stand Up Comedy Thread

There's a thread about Netflix comedy specials. What about the rest of the great comedians in the world that aren't on Netflix? Here's my contribution. This guy kills it.

What other comedians have you seen that are worthy of sharing?

I caught Bill Burrs special. I love Burr. Him reading the classifieds would crack my ass up.

But it is getting old that all these comics have to address the offended crowd to start off a show. Maybe it’s because I just caught Chappelles special last week and it’s associated blowback. But damn it. Will these ****s never get it and just let these guys do funny?

I mean. It was funny and he executed it flawlessly like usual, but you could tell he didn’t want to do it but thought he had to.

**** ****ing ****s that are ****ing offended.

White women get the least offended out of any demographic there is IMO. White men act like they are offended because they have to seem like they give a shit. White women pretty much can do whatever they want - especially if they are hot.

Watched Burr last night it was great as he always is. I enjoyed him rippin on Euro's being fat too. Euros with pus guts wearing skinny jeans is so true.

On the other hand Chappelle was kinda ho hum for him I felt he mailed it in. I found the epilogue the best part of the special in particular the Q&A.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I don't find Mitch Hedberg funny at all. In fact, he might be the most overrated comic ever.

How was he overrated, had you heard of him before? Most people had never heard of him unless they were regular Dave Letterman watchers like myself. I, just like David Letterman found Mitch Hedberg to be one the funniest comedians ever. I don't know how anyone could watch that compilation video and not think the same. A lot of it has to do with his delivery and style, not just the jokes. Plus the jokes are like many comedians, observations of daily life, but he takes it to the level that most people never think or consider. Such as you may have seen him on a TV show, but in his mind, you more than likely have seen him in a supermarket. It's sort of like Seinfeld, he questions things that we take for granted. George Carlin did the same, who was probably my first favorite comedian.

Carson then Letterman always had the best comedians of the day. If Johnny invited you from the stage to the chair you did good and would be back.

Letterman had good comedians and the best music artists. Its a shame he didn't get the tonight show and Leno did He became a real dick after that. I am also surprised Dave has stayed out of the news of the metoo with his rape room on the 2nd floor of the Ed Sullivan Theater.

Everybody knew Hedberg. Anybody that paid attention to the comedy scene in the late 90s early 2000s knew Hedberg. Do you seriously know people that hadn’t heard of him before? Like my parents probably didn’t know him but certainly everybody my age did. He was really huge for a short time. Then drugs ended all that.

I thought he was funny. But it was wildly annoying when my buddies would try to do his jokes, because you just can’t do it like he did it.

Those are quality selections, and most of those were career-making sets.
