Probably the greatest victory by the GOP in recent decades has been their ability to convince no small number of people, by doing nothing more than repeating unsubstantiated apocrypha, that Hillary Clinton is inherently dishonest and corrupt. People that would otherwise eschew any partisan attacks from the Republican party have fallen lockstep into their rhetoric simply because these denigrations against Clinton have been repeated so frequently, people start to feel 'well, everyone knows that. of course it's true'.

In an age when so many people take headlines and click-bait titles as truth, or are willing to accept scandalous commentary from random people on the internet without even so much as a cursory investigation, it's no wonder.

Whether it's Benghazi, emails, or charitable foundations, so many of her opponents have been repeating the same things so often, that it's become an inextricable part of her aura to so many. However, this cloud of doubt is constructed almost entirely out of fiction, or at times, cherry picked data that is missing critical context, or conflated with disconnected situations.

So now, we have an election upon us where the GOP candidate is so toxic the leadership in his own party can't bring themselves to say they're voting for him, so irresponsible that his own staff have taken away his Twitter account because he can't be trusted with it, and, clearly, dangerously unqualified for the office of President. And yet, the Democratic candidate, who is probably the single most qualified individual to have ever run for President in our history (male or female) is being untrusted by people who would typically be in her own constituency because they're believing the .exact. .same. .people. that put Trump where he is today.

Hillary has been investigated dozens of times, to the cost of (at least) 10's of millions of dollars (just two of those 'scandals' alone, email and Benghazi, comprise at least 30 million, more now with Comey's latest shenanigans), but has yet to be charged with a single crime or found guilty of any corruption. I've seen people on multiple occasions declare with exasperation: "she just keeps getting away with it!" rather than allow themselves to believe the much simpler explanation that, perhaps, she's not guilty. We have to begin to ask ourselves: Is Hillary Clinton really /that/ sorcerous that she can some somehow elude discovery for decades by legions of lawyers and investigators, or, maybe, just maybe, she's not quite the insidious witch that her opponents have been trying so hard to get us to believe she is?
