****OFFICIAL 2013-2014 Fantasy Football Repository Thread****

Let me preface this by saying I'm an idiot. Originally posted this thread in the wrong forum.

So, let's try this again.

This is a thread to tide us FFL'ers until the start of the season.

I've been talking to a bunch of guys lately re: fantasy football. I can't wait.

If you're a hater and don't get or enjoy FF then you can suck a bag of dicks.

How many leagues are you in? What are the buy-ins?

Old Dog you going to Vegas again?

My idea for our draft order for our dynasty league was:

Similar to ping pong. You write a number on the bottom of each cup (1-12) and fill it up with dark beer or liquor.

Each player gets one ping pong ball and shoots it. After everyone has made a ball everyone chugs their drink which then reveals their pick.

However, it is more of a luck thing rather than any sort of skill.

Out of owners would designate people at the draft to shoot for them.

Okay, so this may sound a bit childish, but.. we determine draft order by placing the draft picks into manilla envelops, laying it out at a local pub, and then choosing. We choose in reverse order of the winners from the year before, so the overall winner picks last (well, gets the last standing envelop).

The only mildly interesting part is that the draft picks are numbers on pages from varying porn magazines. And the quality of the image is directly related to the quality of the pick. So #1 is pretty nice looking, but pick #13 is as hideous as can be found.

:: shrug ::

12 team keeper league.

We were allowed to keep 2 offensive players of not the same position and one IDP.

Your WR's are sick then...

RB's... meh... I'm not high on Ridley and I am positively low on Matthews. But, with Richardson as well, you should get respectable play out of them. I think they will both be low RB1, so that sort of evens out a bit I guess. And I could clearly be wrong about Ridley.

I like Stafford to have another huge year, like he did a couple years ago.

Can't comment on the IDP.

Good team for a 3WR playing league

I like Ridley a lot. Even though I think Vereen might take some of his touches. Also, not a huge fan of Matthews but RBs flew off the board fast. And worst case I can always potentially trade a WR for a RB.

Feeling pretty good about this draft. Obviously the two big variables Are Stafford and Matthews..

i did a yahoo mock draft, 12 people and I had pick #2 (which kinda sucks):

1. C.J. Spiller (Buf - RB)
2. Aaron Rodgers (GB - QB)
3. Reggie Bush (Det - RB)
4. Darren Sproles (NO - RB)
5. Antonio Brown (Pit - WR)
6. Ryan Mathews (SD - RB)
7. Mike Williams (TB - WR)
8. T.Y. Hilton (Ind - WR)
9. DeAndre Hopkins (Hou - WR)
10. Bryce Brown (Phi - RB)
11. Jared Cook (StL - TE)
12. Ryan Broyles (Det - WR)
13. Johnathan Franklin (GB - RB)
14. Tennessee (Ten - DEF)
15. Lawrence Tynes (TB - K)

it's solid...my initial plan was 3 straight RBs no matter what, but i still have a hard time passing on QBs...

i could have taken chris johnson in the 2nd, and then instead of Sproles in the 5th had a QB from Ryan, Kaepernick, Newton, RGIII

probably reached on hopkins, but it was mostly sorting trash at that point

and i'm torn between charles/spiller for my first rb

If this was a real draft and it was PPR.. this would be ACES.

I like where you got him just fine. I'm pretty high on him though.

I'm thinking Charles will be there when I draft sixth in my league (don't ask.. everyone drafts QBs like crazy because we can start two and people haven't adapted since we dropped the passing points down to 4 from 6). I know it's a BIT of a homer pick, but I really hope it makes sense for me to get him at 6.

One reason I like him is because I think Kniles is the clear backup. I like to pick high Rb's that you can legitimately handcuff.

Okay, for those of you with no life please critique my first dynasty draft.

I picked 5/12.

We start: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 DL, 3LBS, 1 S, 1 C.

QBs - Ryan, Rivers
RBs - Charles, David Wilson, LeShoure, Richardson, 'quiz Rodgers, Ballard
WRs - Demariyus Thomas, A. Brown, V. Brown, Givens, DeAndre Hopkins, DJax, Tate
TEs - Witten, Myers
K - Janikowski
DL - Datone Jones, Muhammed Wilkerson
LB - Bostic, Bowman, Houston, Clay Matthews, Sio Moore, Alec Ogletree, Walden
CB - Shields
S - Earl Thomas, Kenny Vaccaro.

Man, this was tough. A lot of young guys -- especially on the defensive end. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my squad. WR 2/3 could potentially be an issue. Hoping Thomas, DJax, and a combination of Hopkins/Brown/Brown could do the job.

thanks man

it's funny, i've done some mocks to try out different strategies (last year was my first year, and I reached for everyone) and it is so hard to commit to 3 rbs when QBs and WRs are flying off the boards, but I like the results

there's about 10 QBs with a few points of each other, it seems, and a couple are always there in 8-9th round

anyone think Alex Smith could put up decent ff #s in a pinch?

Is this a PPR or Standard league?

I've done a bunch of mock drafts on fantasyfootballcalculator and Spiller never goes that high. I'd much rather have Foster or Charles at the #2 spot this year.

It's hard to pull the trigger on an elite QB in the early rounds when there will be guys like Stafford, Romo, Eli, Luck, etc all available late, with not a huge drop off in production.
