Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Everything on this Mauser has gone pretty well for a rookie
Cut barrel & re-crown. Didnt really need to do this. I have never done it before .So it was a must try
Clean up tooling marks on barrel & receiver left by the Nazi's.
Sand & put 6 coats of Formbys Tung oil on Boyd's after market stock,,,check.
Wood turned out awesome.Formbys Tung oil is the shit.
did some other minor shit to the bolt handle,so it would clear a scope.

Tonight was time to blue the metal. FAIL FAIL FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cold bluing sucks. Never again.

EDIT/ To my surprise this morning, the blue-ing looks a 100 x better. not sure what happened? maybe the lighting in the shop, maybe it takes 8 hours or so to get the full affect. Either way I am more than satisfied with the cold blue-ing.
I now christen thee....................... Wolf Slayer. Ill get Bugs to take a few pics

Oh man, I'm not sure I'd trust many of the people around this place . Although, if I were to buy one new I'd be paying almost $100 in taxes, plus that tedious background check is such a pain. That $100 would go nicely towards a new AimPoint.

Also a group of us are looking at sig's newer 9mm 1911 type pocket carry. Called a nightmare, group rate is under 600 for each of us, I'm debating on jumping on that one. It is a sig and I like sigs, but it's a 6 month back order.

Anyway, what's the feed back on the orders so far? I also want to get some hunting rifles, an AK, shotguns (I have a mossberg pump pistol grip now). And more handguns (have a few) like smith's governor and a full 1911 and some others
did you ever get that kimber you always wanted?

No one cares, but here it is anyways. 1944 8mm,K-98 Mauser.

The scope & high rings are not gonna be on this rifle. I needed something on the there, so I could mic in between the scope & the bolt to make sure the weaver mounts are both on the nut.

I know, right? I already have the aim point though. But the member's price was fair enough I don't feel right in trying to counter. I'm not much of a haggler.

To everyone else, a question; sig 9mm nightmare for 580 pre tax. Good price for now, love sigs, and an upgrade to my .38 snub revolver I carry as a backup on duty piece and good conceal carry option.

Do I pull the trigger now or wait for the price to go down next year? (Or buy a different back-up/off duty?

I have not, though kimber isn't the "always wanted" I want a full sized 1911. Thus the draw to the nightmare, a compact 1911 9mm sig that fits in my pocket. I feel like the m11a1 would too.....

For a CC... I cannot strongly enough recommend the Bersa BP9cc. I adore that gun and it is my favorite pistol that I've owned.

Well, I have a Glock 23 form my cc pistol (I think it's very popular with law enforcement too due to it's affordability and .40 S&W caliber) but darn, I too am loving that M11-A1!!

Got the lights mounted on the Sub2K.

Had to side mount it as the forend splits down the middle so I couldn't screw it in there.

"FPS" view. I can see the laser but it apparently washes out in the photo.

Palmetto has complete lowers on sale for 179.

They had stripped lowers (blemished, who cares) for 59 last night.

I should rephrase, the 9mm sig nightmare is a pocket carry, smaller than the m11-a1. More backup than cc gun, from what I'm reading and seeing $580 is a good deal. I can still consider the m11a1 or Bersa (I haven't shot/held a glock I like yet, but option open for the clock 23 too) or another for a cc gun.
