INSANITY Workout – any CP Insanity veterans in here??

So my daughter says to me the other day…. “Hey Dad, you said you were going to get back to working again right? Let’s buy Insanity and do it together.” So I said (having no friggin idea what Insanity IS)…. “Sure. Sounds great.”
Well now I’m doing some research on it and I’m actually a little sick to my stomach. She’s a 6 foot solid muscled 18 year old (that somehow thinks she’s out of shape….women!) and I’m a 6 foot 250 lb 46 year old for Gods sake! I mean….I’m not a blob or anything. I’m pretty active....OK fairly active. I can still bust some moves on a basketball court…..I just gotta play the half court game now you know? I hit the treadmill from time to time. But for crying out loud what I’m reading about this workout is scaring the crap outta me! I’m really not sure I’ll be able to do this. Anyone went through this thing? This frigging workout is gonna show up in the mail any day now and……gulp…..I’m a-scairt!

One of the things that I like better about Insanity (over P90x) is that they tell you that you don't need to pause the video if you need to take a break. And taking a quick rest doesn't feel as bad because you can see the people on the video behind him stopping because they're exhausted.

Insanity is great but don't think you need to do the entire workout each time. I do it basically every day but sometimes I will do the warmup, stretch, then one interval, then stretch. Or sometimes I do two intervals, or sometimes I do one or two parts of each of the three intervals (It is three if you are on the Max stuff). If you are getting through it in good form and not completely struggling its fine to do the whole thing but if you are struggling and your form is off, you are better off stopping so you don't injure yourself or overwork yourself.

I have found that I still get the same results without completely killing myself as long as you are doing the exercises properly and effectively. Because he always says do what you can and take a rest when you need it and also, perhaps most importantly is that form is more important than speed. And when I compare my weight/results each day from doing the whole 60 minutes or perhaps only doing 30-40, they are the exact same. In fact sometimes, I see better results doing shorter workouts.

She works out a lot, runs and does other videos and told me I was going to start doing this with her.

I told her she was out of her damn mind and that if she wanted me to work out, I preferred the sexercycle.

I started this again tonight. Had to quit after the first month. Work got batshit crazy and then I got sick. Took a break through harvest and am hitting it again.

I use the ab workout all the time because I hate doing situps and crunches. Great way to get your abs really good. I still get sore after doing this.

Once I completed the program I use the pure cardio more than any of the others. With the whole nonstop action and working every major muscle group I never feel like I am wasting any time at all.

it's really good! man those moving pushups put it to the test.
I was very sore the first week....and the crazy thing is I'd been doing some pretty good workouts for the last several weeks preparing myself for the insanity onslaught. so it wasn't as if I'd been inactive for a while....
it's a serious workout...no doubt.
