The killer deals on food and gambling pretty much dried up years ago. You'll have to venture downtown or some of the smaller joints for the best deals. |

There's lots of info, but I've heard the Hash House is a really good place to eat...reasonable prices and good food. My wife and sister went there and loved it.

Yeah, be prepared to drop some cash. Everyone assumes food is cheap in Vegas. Basically the only cheap things about Vegas anymore are the flights and the hotel rooms.

This may sound stupid, but the biggest thing (IMO) for first timers (especially for a fairly long trip) is to set a daily budget for gambling and don't go over it no matter what. If your daily limit is $500 and you find yourself out of cash by 10am, find something else to do. If that means walking the strip, taking the bus downtown, or whatever stay away from the tables, slot machines, sports books, etc.....
Those fricking casinos didn't just jump up out of the sand and you aren't going to own a couple of them when you get back on the plane in a few days. I'm not insinuating that YOU would, but I've had a couple of friends go out there in the past and get way in over their heads. Gambling money is an entertainment expense, only play what you're prepared to lose. |

Stay strong at the presentations...I know two people who said they would never actually sign anything, but they did. And they regretted it shortly after. |
