I still follow Bas. His last CD was pretty damned good, he still has the pipes. His wedding was a riot- I wish I could have attended. As far as Soundgarden- I think they were the Best out of that area with Pearl Jam and Candlebox being the runners up in my IMO. Nirvana got all the credit and sales but the other bands were much more talented imo. Why would he kill himself? I struggle with that since losing a close friend who shot himself to death a few blocks from my house. It makes no sense. All my friend had to do is answer one of my calls and I would have helped him in any way. I am sure Chris's close friends and family are thinking the same thing. ****ing Selfish. |

This one stings.
Damn. Soundgarden was a huge part of my childhood. I'll always remember escaping the troubles of life, cruising the beach on my bike on a warm summer day with Chris Cornell blasting in my headphones. It was a daily occurrence. RIP, Chris.

Apparently the final song he performed in Detroit last night was a cover of Led Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying".

Chris struggled with heroin addiction in the 80's and early 90's, alcoholism in the throughout the 90's and going back to 2000.
He also struggled with depression. He joined AA, which helped him greatly and really revived his career with Soundgarden but apparently, the demons were just too great. R.I.P. |

Seattle is apparently a dangerous place for musicians to mature in.
