Question about House painting:

The addition to my house that I have been working on for the past 2 yearsis nearly finished. FINALLY!! Now we are repainting the house. I'm planning to paint right over the old paint. But there are new parts that need to be primed. I have a few partially full cans of old exterior paint that will not be used as the final color. Can I use them up as primer?

I rarely screw with exterior paint though.

And don't confuse Kilz2 with regular Kilz, there's a big difference.
rolls and cuts better?

No, please continue to seek advice from Walmart employees.

Did you strain the pait before using it in the air gun? Not doing that will clog up a gun.

No. I though that's for if you have old paint with debris in it. I'll strain next time no matter what.

Go buy this: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100634354

Or rent an airless sprayer for $50-85 a day.

When you're spraying latex on a house, airless works best. Lots of people buy Wagner spray products and lots of people have success with Wagner products. An airless solution isn't cheap but it's well worth the effort.

I took a week off from work to paint the house, after ripping off rotted trim and crappy Masonite siding I still need to paint the dam thing. I have hired a painter to spray it and got a pretty good deal. I now need to pick colors, trim will be a tan and I have yet to pick out the base color. I drove through the new additions down the street and saw more darker colors in the browns, greens and grey's. What say you, what color is your house and or what would you pick?

The wife likes Behr paint dry brown, I kinda like the sage green. I think I may give her, her way on the outside and do the sage green on the inside. I see the inside more than the out.

I'm switching from Sherwin Williams to Behr Premium Plus, has anyone used this paint?

Highly recommend the Behr Premium Plus. Our entire interior is painted with it. Just repainted my office and again went with the Behr line. Stuff is great and I think worth the extra money. The stain blocking stuff does allow things to be fairly easily wiped off too.

Sherwin Williams has gotten proud, I will save about 10 bucks a gallon with Behr.

We have the same textured inside walls, I find it hard to pick a color I like because of the texture.

My house is brick. The color is a light peach, not quite apricot.
