I-Pod User advice needed

I just purchased the 80 gig i-pod and am having a hell of a time with i-tunes. It seems like it might be ok for small capacity i-pods but for the 80 Gig it is a major pain in the ass. Does anyone know of a program that might be easier. Also how to convert avi files to play on i-pod.

An alternative program to iTunes is a program called SharePod which is freeware. You might want to give that a shot.

To convert an AVI file to an iPod file you can also use a freeware program called Videora iPod Video Converter

Is this the only good converter for iPod? I used DVD Fab today to convert one of my DVDs and it only took about 30 minutes for a 104 min movie. The end product looks decent until you expand it to fit the screen and everything is annoyingly stretched. I also messed with Super C but it takes way too long to encode. After 30 minutes it wasn't even at 5%.

Anyone tried other converters with any success?

For Mac, I use either DVDRemaster Pro (For DVDs) or iSquint for every other kind of file to convert.

Windows. Videora seems to have done a decent job so I may stick with that. Took a 104 minute movie down to 557mb

I need to see if I could have it shrink my digital copy of Dark Knight. That damn thing is 1.6gb. No reason for it to be that big on an iPod.

Damn, it can't do a copyrighted file. Why the hell does it have to be 1.6gb for crying out loud.

Does anyone know how to shrink a copyrighted m4v file? I can't find anything in my searches.
