Official 2012-2013 NBA Thread

Looks like James Harden has been To the Rockets for Jeremey Lamb, Kevin Martin and future picks. Plus... this is a general NBA thread.

Yup. At the end of the games especially when close they all play a little harder. They always have. The winning bonus is nice. It was late in the 4th. Close game. Nothing wrong with it. Lebrun sure looked like he was focused ready to play on that play

I don't think the WC finals were the first time that I knew Harden was going to be a great player (or in fact, already was one), but that was the first time I knew he had top 5-10 potential.

LeBron didn't try the entire night. Neither did Kobe for that matter until he decided to block LeBron out of the blue on a jump shot.

You happen to watch the end of game 6 when Harden made a big shot, and some how decipher that he was the reason OKC won the series. A shot were he just fired it up because the click was about to expire by the way.You are so far off base it's not even funny. Also, if it took you that long to figure out he's a fantastic offensive player you weren't paying much attention at all. You are also aren't paying attention to his WAY below average defense. You are just silly sometimes. It has to be trolling.

Harden's best 2 games of the series were the 2 Thunder losses by the way. Lol nice trolling. Now tell me how he was the only player that kept them in the finals. Your energy is better focused by on the atrocity of a defensive play in the All-Star game. Had Kobe made that play on LeBron you would be TOTALLY on the other side. It's not even a question.

There's nothing to argue. It was plain to see. Neither of them were trying all game until Kobe decided to clown him out of nowhere. In a ****ing All-Star game. You can pin it on his ultra competitiveness if you want (instead of his need to have his ego stroked), but that's what happened.

I watch games all the time. That's how I guessed when James Harden got traded that he would flourish in Houston as one of the best players in the NBA despite doubters saying he wouldn't even be a #1. Or did you forget about that one?

And you're kidding yourself if you don't think Harden was a massive reason for OKC going through to the Finals. His ability to make the big play (and big shot) and to especially take some of the pressure off Durant was huge for them. It completely changed the way the Spurs had to defend. The fact that he didn't do any of those same things against the Heat was also a huge reason why they lost there.

Trolling is posting a gif of LeBron getting blocked in an AS game and calling him a fraud. Saying Harden played a big role in OKC beating the Spurs is just a fact. I can't control you getting upset over that because your cheap owners inexplicably decided to trade him away risking the team's legacy over a few dollars.

I think you mean LeBron on Kobe. And no, I treat the AS game for the noncompetitive joke that it is. If LeBron clowned another player out of the blue like that, I would also call him an asshole. It's not like I haven't done so before.

This is not saying he was a big part of it. You said he is THE REASON. There is a big ****ing difference. I said he had a good series. You said he was THE REASON. Nice back track though.

I'm not sure they would have won it without him. His contributions were that big throughout. Is that fair to say?

Offensively, he was the second best player in the series. Defensively he was the worst. I tend to pay attention to both sides of the ball. The 20 points you score don't mean quite as much when Ginobli rapes you in the face for 35.
Again, you said he was the reason they won the series which is an incredibly stupid statement. Kevin Durant is pretty much always the main reason, but for whatever reason he's not on the KC Connection I'm smarter than the room list.

I said I had doubts about Harden being a number 1 because of his defense, and having the attention on him. He's done a nice job, and I'm happy for him. As far as a top 10 ALL AROUND player. I don't think he's there yet.

I don't blame the Finals on him either. I think that rests squarely on Miami playing great and Scott Brooks not playing optimal lineups. I loved Harden in OKC, and I still root for him when he's not playing the Thunder. I just think you have blinders in when it comes to him, and a few others. Do you think his defense is adequate?

Kevin Durant doesn't do what he did against the Spurs in that series without the major aid of James Harden. That was the point. His great play helped free up Durant and helped elevate that team.

Harden's defense isn't particularly good (at least if you're comparing him to the best players in the league like LeBron and Durant or defensive stoppers like Thabo), but it's not that bad either. When he wants to play hard defensively, he's quite capable. We're not talking about DeMar DeRozan or something here.

Harden's defensive win shares are pretty comparable to other top guards like Paul, Parker, and Kobe this year: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...3_leaders.html
