Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Looks great! If it ever got stolen, it wouldn't be hard to identify also. If you ever sold it, it would be one of a kind.

Thanks. Although this is fairly common. I actually only used part of the tape that came with the kit - using all of it would really be overkill.

There's a certain price range where's it's low enough you have to start finding reasons to not buy them! Looks nice!

Makes me want to puke...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013...with-new-bill/

A pair of Democratic lawmakers are proposing steep new taxes on handguns and ammunition, and tying the revenues to programs aimed at preventing gun violence.

Called the “Gun Violence Prevention and Safe Communities Act,” the bill sponsored by William Pascrell, D-N.J., and Danny Davis, D-Ill., would nearly double the current 11 percent tax on handguns, while raising the levy on bullets and cartridges from 11 percent to 50 percent. […]

The lawmakers say the bill would generate $600 million per year, which would be used to fund law-enforcement and gun violence prevention. …

The bill would also increase the transfer tax on all weapons (except antique guns) covered under the National Firearms Act (which excludes most common guns) from $200 to $500 and index to inflation and increase the transfer tax for any other weapon from $5 to $100.

aaaand this is exactly what I predicted these politicians would try and do. Tax the crap out of ammo and whatever else they can in order to dissuade people from buying.

I'm not really worried. ****y liberal media trying to make something out of it, but this will never happen. Just two slimeballs seeking free press.

I might just buy a gun at the upcoming gun show (since there are no background checks / anti-gun morons). I've thought about getting a shotty for home. or possible a plinking rifle.

but, i'll most likely buy a pistol like I always do lol. was thinking of the ATI 1911 compact. (I forget the model designator). Getting my CCW submitted here in a week or so (yeah.....took the course in April, and have been to GD busy).

Just saw 1,000 round cases of American Eagle 5.56 @ Walmart. They were just putting them out and had four of them. $440/case. With the three box rule, it'd be a real quick way to have put 3,000 rounds in my safe, LOL. This was the Oak Cliff Walmart in Dallas just off I-30.

I have a couple questions...

For the reloaders: A couple weeks ago I took my Sig Sauer 556 out with my Dad and shot a few rounds. This is the first time I shot it since I had started to think about reloading, so I picked up the spent cases. I noticed that every case had dents in the same two places. One on the lip, and one further down on the side. How would this affect reloading? I assume the dents would need to be fixed somehow, but would the cases still be safe?

The second question is if the dents in the cases would make it too difficult or costly for me to reload ammo originally fired from this rifle: What is the best way to sell a gun? I'm pretty certain if I take it to the local gun store I'll get 50 cents on the dollar, if that. I'm thinking I'd sell the Sig and get an AR.
