Chad Hall got cut by the 49ers because he taped Colin Kaepernick's butt cheeks together.

A little more troubling was the amount of 5-wide sets we were using on the first drive.

Going against a pass rush like theirs with ball hawks in the secondary like they have, we should have at least either had back at Alex's side to pass protect or threaten to run.

A head scratcher for me.

I was wondering who the **** this beach bum was, just so random how he turns up with his flowing blond locks out of nowhere for the first play and vanishes for the rest of the game. Did it really happen ??

Of course I am. In a thread where we are talking about a player who is completely and utterly useless, you make that comment. You just dig for the sake of digging. Chad Hall was and still is a stupid pickup.

The overemphasis on getting the ball to Chad Hall was bizarre to start the game.

Unless the Chiefs saw a significant match-up advantage with Chad Hall, versus the Titans defense (which I highly doubt), it was odd.

I'd like to see Reid try a similar approach with Bowe... getting him involved early with high % passes.

I understand the reason for it. They ran a bunch of empty backfield sets to spread the Titans' defense out, probably thinking this could give Smith opportunity to get rid of the ball quickly and spread out the pass rush.

I don't understand at all what Chad Hall brings to the table that Hemmingway doesn't. Hall is completely and utterly useless.
