Will this team win a playoff game?

Will the Chiefs win a playoff game? Or has the blueprint been written - run the ball and keep Mahomes off the field, sprinkled with deep shots against the horrible secondary.

Coaching has been horrendous in regard to penalties. Its like we're the Raiders now. Just incredibly stupid holds and blocks, many times away from the play and wholly unnecessary. We have to be over a thousand yards in penalties by now. Its pathetic.

this defense is shit. We're not going far. Mahomes is a generational talent, and it won't be enough.

This year, probably not. The offense has to basically play a perfect game and score on every possession to overcome meh special teams, penalties and a putrid pass defense.

No, last week we beat a one dimensional team with a rookie QB. This week way more was on the line, like there is in a playoff game, and we blew a lead the way we normally do in the playoffs.

True, we do still control our own destiny - but IMO we are a much different team than we were 24hours ago - because now, everyone that thought this team was different 24hours ago, from other Chiefs teams, knows that this Chiefs team can still blow big leads at home, even with Mahomes - and the players know it also.

I'm not gonna argue with you. You can have your opinion and believe that last night's events changes nothing... I know what I saw and have my opinion as well. If people show me who they are, I believe them. And the Chiefs showed me something last night.

I'm just glad we have Mahomes...

Just a good division race between two top quarterbacks.

We won the first matchup, now there is more intrigue because we choked. Sometimes that happens, even with Superbowl teams. You just have to enjoy this game and Mahomes makes me smile alot more (if Alex was our quarterback I’d be tuning out)

KC and LAC seem to be top dogs in the AFC. It’s a shame the Patriots will be gifted a bye because of their dogsh*t division. Tannehill is Brady’s best competition

Yep. And we lost just enough of it for it not to be able to do it all the time.

Very well said. Spot on about Mahomes. That's what this season is all about, no matter where it leads.

^this^

The biggest loss on either team was Hill not being able to stretch the field at 70% of his normal ability...

Also, the throw by Rivers on 4th and 8 was as good as it gets... I hate Rivers, but that was an elite elite throw with pressure coming.

I said Yes....barely.
This team won’t kill my playoff PTSD though.

I fully expect the season to end in the most excruciating way possible. Hell, maybe another defensive cluster**** like last night. I’m psyched to find out.

We all thought Mahomes fixed all that BS. He can't help from the sidelines. It was a playoff preview. We all know where this is headed. That's the brutal part of it.
This. I actually fell asleep with 5 minutes left thinking it was over. I think my body put me in a coma like a burn victim in efforts to shield me against the pain. I woke up around midnight and saw the score and was like what happened??? We will lose in the playoffs whether we are first or fifth seed, on the road or at home. You can’t win with a defense this bad. If you don’t believe this then you weren’t around during the Vermiel/Green days. Marcus Peters gone to the Rams, Kareem Hunt, out of the league. Bob Sutton: still on our sidelines presiding over worst defense in the league. No lead is safe. I’m going to start calling this the “Jaws” defense. Just when you think a lead is safe cue the ominous music.

Anybody who picked KC to win yesterday based on the 9 game streak against the Chargers must vote for one and done again based on streaks.
Unless the team proves that it can get to the AFCCG fans have good reasons to be jittery.

It's ironic that:

We have lost 3 games by a total of 7 points, yet we don't feel confident

We have a 1st year starter that is forced to win 14 games in order to get the #1 seed...that's a tall ass order

We do get jobbed by the refs, but we also do plenty PLENTY of stupid shit to shoot ourselves in the face with penalties. Good lord, how can this team be so brilliant and so ****ing stupid at the same time?

We continue to deal with injuries, and I suppose all teams do (Chargers were FAR from full strength last night), but it just seems to be the Chiefs way since...forever...

I think we can win a playoff game, but I think that Pat and the O have to be perfect and put the game away. We can't depend on this defense. I mean come ON...NOBODY COVERED ON THE 2 POINT TRY?? This defense does not play complimentary football. It's a lot to ask of your offense to be high flying and perfect every damn game. When the O shits the bed, the D needs to step up...at home...when the #1 seed is on the line...

Meh...

Even more than the penalty to give the LOS ANGELES Chargers the ball on the 1 and four more tries, that two point farce was what broke me. You see the Chargers quarterback throw the ball and then the camera swings down as you're hoping for a defender to knock the ball down...and there's no one within a mile of the stupid Chargers wide receiver. I mean, at least try to win the game, guys.

Since it has been decided that we won't win a playoff game, who do we want to lose to? New England? Houston? Pittsburgh? Baltimore?

I guess Houston. That would at least be something new. They're the only team we've beaten in the playoffs the last 25 years.
