For those in the KZ2 thread you know my pain because, for some reason I jacked that thread with my woes over my kicked box.
Here's the short summary. Bought PS3 on 4-2-08 Did not keep receipt PS3 laser craps out on me Do not have receipt. On the hook for paying for warranty. Talk to PS reps, try searching for receipt from store of purchase, ask if cc bill will suffice and am told by 3 different people that an itemized receipt is required. I give up and figure I've just been taught a $150 lesson in life. I remain bitter at Sony and myself, them for their product me for not being the constant skeptic and expecting the thing to fail. Sexy Update: I get my coffin and load up my rig. I call PS to see about getting my service paid for and mention that my rig is in warranty but I am without receipt. The lady tells me the cc bill will suffice. Long story short, she gets me cleared to have the repair done in warranty and at no cost to me. I have no idea how long the repair will take, my Wii is getting me by right now but I do miss my PS3. All those little f'ers on KZ will be racking up stats while I'm out of commission...DAMN! And I'm missing out on RE5..but given my experience with the Demo I'm not too thrilled with that game. What the hell is up with the control setup? Anybody? Buehler?

Well, I'm really glad you got that paid for!
Just goes to show it pays to keep calling. Eventually you'll get someone who's not a human robot. |

She was like an angel. "Oh no, that shouldn't be a problem. Please hold. Yep, we can cover that for you just..." Awesome, just awesome. Now I begin complaining about my wait time for the repair. Why? Because it's the American thing to do.

Because it is never available on PSN until 7 or 8pm CST. I'll never understand why they don't release everything at 2am like that other console does.

Mini PS3 rant!!!!
I hate it, HATE IT, when you download a PSN game only for it to turn around and download ANOTHER update that was LARGER than the original game download and PSN is SLOW ENOUGH as it is. PLUS, when it performs the update it DOES NOT allow you to download the update in the background. You have to tie up your PS3 to the update for how ever many hours it takes for the update to download.

My God. A 384 mb update is taking over 3 hours right now while the internet still flies on my computer. Even Privoxy doesn't help. Tiny can you check things out and ask some questions there for me. This is ridiculous. The game updates take longer that the initial dl of the game file itself plus they can't be done in the background so you can't do ANYTHING on the PS3 while the update is running.
There has got to be a way to speed things up from Sony.

I have never had a game update take longer than five minutes!
Is it HOME? Those are the largest updates. |

Nope. not home. I downloaded Pain which took over 2 hours. Then when I started the game it immediately went into another update that took over 3 hours. My PS3 is Nat2 and everything on my router is set correctly. All my other internet devices fly but the PS3 crawls every time.

Rig Update: My rig is due back in my grubby little dick skinners on Friday. What else is coming to my grubby little dick skinners on Friday? 320 gb HD. Why? Because f it, why not? I ran into an HD on Amazon for $65 and figure I can use a little more space.
I never realized how hooked I am on my PS3.
