Game of Thrones *Spoiler* Thread

There's been some recent confusion with the old spoiler thread, so I'm kicking off a new one for tonight's premiere. This is going to be the one for folks who've read all the books. So anything anybody might want to talk about is in bounds. Suffice to say, if you haven't read the books, you'll probably want to stay out of here until you do...

I'll bump the old spoiler-free thread shortly in case anybody's interested. For future reference the link to that one is here

Wonder how they will film that. Can't imagine that Charles Dance is going to stand up from the toilet buck naked so he can get shot...

They'll probably just shoot him in the gut or the chest.

Yes but in all honestly Jon is the most important character in the series.

He's had probably his best season (as an actor). I think once he's established as the commander and doing scenes with stannis and melisandre, that 'boring' bit will go out the window.

Ackles and Sheppard have a great dynamic, so it should be really fun next year.

Lots of interesting things could happen. Crowley's real son is out there somewhere, and I got the sense last night that Dean's going to be his surrogate demon kid. All that human blood did some weird stuff to him I guess. He almost seemed lonely in his monologue at the end.

The show version of Jon Snow has never been as good as the book version. Maybe that will change as he has been better this season, and the wildling battle should not be boring.

Funny how some characters are far better on the show IMO (i.e. Margary, Khal Drogo, Tywin, Bronn, etc.), where a few (i.e. Jon, Bran, Littlefinger, etc.) are better in the books. Of course the main ones like Tyrion, Ned, Arya are just as good in both.

I think the problem is that North of the Wall and the Night's Watch don't make for very interesting viewing. Not that the plots involved aren't worthwhile, but at its core it's a bunch of dreary dudes in a dreary place wearing dreary clothes. Not a whole lot they can do with it to make the scenery and the characters seem as exciting as those in the other places. I thought it helped last season when Jon was with Ygritte, but this year it's back to a sausage fest in black with snow piled everywhere. Which is fine in the books when you can focus more on the minor characters to add some color.

I think episode 9 will kick everything into gear there.

She's definitely my favorite storyline. I'm anxious for her super ninja assassin skills start getting put to use soon.

I know but you don't find how easily she kills disturbing? Like it's almost a relief when she does it.
